  • Wyndham & Starwood exchanges into SFX

I've searched the sticky's and other postings, and am still a bit unclear about how I should go about exchanging my properties into SFX.
First, we own a 2Bdr Gold Plus float week at Sheration Broadway Plantation, via a recent resale purchase. To exchange it, do I make a specific Prime week reservation directly with Starwood, then deposit it with SFX without need of telling Starwood my reservation is for exchange? If I understand Starwood correctly, I have to let them know if I intend to exchange my week with RCI or II and they determine the week to be exchanged. I'm not 100% clear on this rule, because it is a resale of an original owner's unit.

Second, we own Wyndham points. Does the same procedure apply - make a specific week reservation at a resort on the list in a previous post - then call SFX to exchange the week? That would be different than the depositing points only method Wyndham uses for RCI and II.

I've held off joining SFX because I want to be sure of the best way to deposit and trade my weeks.
    Thanks.

I don't know how it would work with your specific resort. However, I book the best week I can at my TS, then fill out the form for SFX. They then contact my resort and finalized the deposit. If Mark doesn't respond with an answer, give them a call.

    Good luck.

      Hi Jeanne,
I own at SBP and deposited my week with SFX.
Assuming you own in the Platinum season (weeks 9-43) - now 'downgraded' by Starwood to Gold Plus - here is what u do.

      1. Call Starwood and reserve a July-early August week at your home resort.
If you have a lock-off, you can make your reservations separately if u like and deposit 2 1BR units.

      2. Do not mention you plan on depositing this week - just make the resie as if u were going to use it yourself. Be sure to get the resie number from Starwood.

      3. Deposit online or via the phone with SFX - they will have u print out a form that you sign and fax back to them giving them permission to confirm your week with Starwood (or any other resort) ***Do this before August 30 to take advantage of their early deposit bonus weeks at the best pricing***

Wyndham - I also own with Wyndham and have a Wyndham II account - with RCI and II Wyn just deposits points, not a real reservation...

Foe SFX, you will need to make a resie. Mark has posted a list of Wyn resorts SFX would like to get deposited - resorts they have demand for. I will find the link/copy here so you can see the resorts.

The procedure to deposit is the same as above.

If you are able to request a week at one of these properties and deposit into your SFX account.... they have the highest trading-power within the resort group where you own your timeshare, (in our system). These are not listed in any specific order.

If you are not able to reserve at any of these resorts, please private message me, and I will be advise accordingly.
