  • What can be done with GM Week

A question on what options are available. I have one Grand Mayan 2010 week that can be used to book into 2011 with and two of the other type of week that can be booked anytime other than Feb - March. I am expecting that I will not be able to use these weeks and am loathe to pay the maintenance fees on them just to deposit them when I can't think of what to use them for. I already have exchanged for a couple of weeks in Hawaii and will have my 2011 GM weeks to use (or lose).

So, are there any options for what to do with these weeks, or should I quietly let them expire. For example, if I deposited them with SFX, could I use them to exchange for a GM week in 2012 in February - March to extend the two weeks that I will already have?

qb_bc - Thank you for your post. It certainly would be a shame to let them expire. Even though you wouldn't have to pay the maintenance... you still have to factor in your purchase price and the value of one less vacation redeemed. However, that is still an option.

If you deposited your 2010 week with SFX today for example, you will have until September 2012 in which to redeem your vacation exchange. You wouldn't be able to trade your week back to a GM resort during the months of February and March, however if those were the only two months you wanted to exchange into Mexico, there are many other high quality resorts we could book you into.

(Enjoy your two great exchange weeks in Hawaii this January).

    Hope this helps...
