Just wondering if anyone has gotten a summer beach week at any of the Marriotts or DVC's for this summer from SFX? I just placed a request for the same and the SFX rep I talked to seemed shocked by my request. He also told me that DVC is no longer available through SFX. I'm starting to think I made a poor decision to deposit my week with SFX, it's just they were so great to me on the phone when I signed-up and the reviews have been positive about SFX.

Has anyone received a DVC week recently from SFX? Thanks.

The inventory at SFX gets assigned to requests already placed. I'm sure someone was very happy to get your DVC. Honestly, I think you are requesting very late for this summer. I hope you get an exchange that you are happy with, but I can't say what your chances of success will be.

As a standard, I would place requests for any Summer week at least nine months in advance if I wanted any shot at getting them - this with any exchange company. If there was any high value to the resort or date (like around July 4th) a minimum of 1 full year in advance is required.

At this point, I'd think there's little chance of a Summer week and certainly nothing DVC or Marriott.

jdunn1 - Thank you for your post. Do you recall the agent you spoke with? As this information about DVC inventory is no longer available through SFX, simply is not correct, and may a result of a misunderstanding. The agent may have said something like, we have no immediate availability, or words to that effect.

Also, it is very late (but not impossible) for a Summer DVC or Marriott prime locaton week. Owners at Marriott and DVC and their owners at their sister resorts have first priority over outside exchangers. As with all exchange companies, it is best to place such prime requests at least 10-12 months in advance.

That agent's name was Natahan and he even went so far as to tell me the DVC properties were going to be removed from your website shortly. I sent you a private message earlier in the week with the exchange information I was hoping for. Would it be possible for you to update my current SFX search to include a summer DVC week? Thank you.

Jdunn1 - Thank you for your response. I was just about to respond to your private message, and in looking at your account I see we have a 2BR unit on hold for you at a Marriott in Hilton Head for June 18.

Your request was only placed two days ago and we are pleased to advise we have a Prime-Summer perfect match for you.

I just deposited my Marriott NCV for june 24-July 1 with SFX. Got 2 bonus weeks and the discount card. Hope I'm able to get some decent weeks in exchange. Care to comment Mark.

Catahoula - Thank you for your post, and thank you for your deposited week. Since Marriott has changed to it's points system, there has been a very noticable number of Marriott Owners that are very unhappy with the change. We have accordingly seen a dramatic increase of Marriott Owners sign-up for SFX Membership.

Hi Catahoula:

Since you posted in my tread (glad you did), I wanted to say hello and give you a big thumbs-up for SFX. I am very impressed with SFX so far.

Mark is correct and litteraly, the day after I deposited my week with them, they called with a summer Marriott week to offer me in Hilton Head. Unfortunately, it was one of the two Marriott resorts that are not on the beach in Hilton Head and I had specifically asked for a beach front Marriott week. That probably sounds ungreatful of me but I have stayed for years at the DVC in Hilton Head, which is not on the beach, so I really wanted to be on the beach this year -- more my family wants to be beach front.

Still, SFX was able to find a very impressive week for me right away. It wasn't one of the resorts I had asked for but it shows that they really do act quickly to find a match for you.

I wish you luch with SFX and maybe you can post your results when you get a match. I know I will tell everyone how well I did with SFX when I get a match. If I get a really good match, I will post on TUG too, and then maybe other Marriott owners will join us at SFX.

Or the owners are not willing to pay the "skim" - they just joined to keep their options open .....that is my feeling and othere here as well as on TUG.

Thank you Mark and Jdunn for the replies. Hopefully SFX will make us all happy. I have not put a request in with SFX for the NCV, but I will let you know when I do and what the results are. I am hoping for an Aruba week somewhere in the future.
