Exchange Liabilities

Is there any down side or liability to exchanging thru a company like SFX rather than thru an exchange company affiliated with the resort. For instance, suppose that I exchange with an SFX member who visits my resort, tears up a condo, and then refuses to pay damages. is there any recourse of my home resort to collect from me?

Bill - Thank you for your post. Just like with the major exchange companies, the inbound guest into your unit is liable for any damage to the unit. We have the same/similar language in our Membership Terms & Conditions whereby the Guest agrees to be financially responsible and liable for any damage to a unit. In the event the Guest refuses to pay for any damage, an option would be an SFX or resort legal action against them.

In the 15 years we have been in business, there has not been one incident.
