  • Lifestyles Weeks Questions

I have 5 Lifestyles weeks and am not totally clear on how I can redeem them. I see that I can redeem them via the sell off list.

Can I also put in vacation requests for areas dates that aren't showing in inventory? If I put in an ongoing search, would that erase the one that I already have for my exchange? Or, is it possible to have several ongoing searches going, even though I have only deposited one week?

Presley - Thank you for your post.

You can redeem them by logging in and booking live available weeks. Or, you may place a request against those credits for weeks and dates that you desire. You may also call member services at 800.739.9969 to place the request with them if you need their assistance. They will be glad to help you.

    Hope this helps...

Presley - I stand corrected. At this moment, you need to call an agent to book them. Within a week or two, you will be able to view and book live online.

What are additional upgrade charges for lifestyle weeks?

For bonus weeks, there used to be additional charges for location (NY, SF, Hawaii etc), Grand Mayan, holiday upgrade, and room size upgrade.

For lifestyle weeks, in addition to the clearly displayed tiered pricing, what are additional charges?

Can cash-card be used toward these additional upgrade charges, even if the price of lifestyle week itself is < $399?

          Thanks!

              Hi Mark,

Thanks for your quick reply with the link to terms&conditions. That's very helpful! It is stated very clearly that the upgrade fees apply for tier3 and tier 4 only. I must have missed that.

However, it is frustrating that SFX management or staff member seem to make up the rules on the fly and do not observe your own terms.

When I called to book a tier 2 week for the upcoming holidays, the staff said they are not very familiar with the new program. So they asked me to hold and check with the so-called "Vice President" and show him the term&condition. The vice president either was not involved in (or not aware of) the "term&condition" of this program or he changed his mind on the fly and overturned the team decision.... Whatever the case, he asked the staff to tell me that the upgrade fees apply for tier 1-4 now.

I do not mind paying whatever required as long as the policy is clear so that I can make conscious decision on deposit and booking accordingly. When the new program just came up, I really like SFX's innovative approach to incorporate time value on owner's deposit as well as the value of the life style week. The pricing are staggered based on the expiration date of these vacation weeks. That really makes sense because even for a highly sought after Maui Marriott Christmas week, how many people can make rush vacation plan to take advantage of that? How much marketing resource does it cost to find a customer? Value is in the eyes of beholders and the vacation week's value diminishes very quickly with time goes by. After all, accommodation is just a portion of the total vacation cost. Many other factors have to be coordinated to put together a trip.

After reading through the terms&conditions in the link you provided, I had wanted to deposit next year's Thanksgiving week to participate in your deposit special to make use of your tier1 and tier2 weeks, (advertised as low as $69/wk for studio). But with all the added upgrade fees now, I'd just make other plans.

From a big picture point of view, a business should not be regretting about giving away values to customers. The more value customers see, the more they will participate and help grow your business.

Sorry for the rant... it had not happened to me that a reputable business overturn their own terms&condition on the phone.

                Hi Mark,

Are the Lifestyle Weeks here to stay? I know there is a current deposit offer, but can I mentally plan for earning Lifestyle Weeks in the next few years?

Presley - Thank you for your post. LifeStyle weeks are a more advanced version of our earlier Bonus Weeks program, which has been around for many years. LifeStyle weeks are part of our long-term strategic planning, and we envision them being around for many years.

                  Hope this helps...
