  • Understanding SFX LifeStyle Weeks and the Sell-off list.

    LifeStyle Weeks:

LifeStyle Weeks is a Bonus Week program with variable pricing. In past promotions, you may have been awarded 2 Bonus Weeks for depositing a week for your exchange. These weeks may have been a fixed price between $399 to $599 and could be requested up to a year in advance. Whether you booked your previous Bonus Weeks a year in advance or 30 days and less, the price was the same.

With LifeStyle weeks, pricing now varies depending on how far in advance, and what size unit you want to book. The advantage of LifeStyle week is, you pay a less money for weeks that are booked less than 6 months in advance. For example... in the past, if you booked your Bonus Week around 60 days out, it would have cost you $399 to $599. Now it only costs you $149 to $299 for the same one bedroom unit. For units priced $399 or higher, you will receive a 10% discount off the price.

    SFX Sell-Off List:

The Sell-off list is a separate booking platform. They are weeks in our inventory we have no exchange requests for from our member base, and is available to you on an unlimited basis at the advertised price. If you have the SFX Cash-Card, you will receive 20% discount off the advertised price.

I just need to clarify when the 18 months is up on the lifestyle weeks offer. If I deposit a 12/23/12 week today, would the 18 months start today or on the check in date?

Just trying to get the most bang for my buck. Thanks for always being here to help out.

Presley - Thank you for your post. For LifeStyle Weeks, the rule is this... you have from the day we receive your deposit and up until December 15 of the following year of your deposited week in which to use the week.

If you deposit a 12/23/2012 week today, you will have up to December 15, 2013 in which to use the week. In this instance you would have about 2 years to use it.

      Hope this helps...

Am I missing something? If the Lifestyle Week expires on 12/15 of the year following the deposit, wouldn't Presley's window end on 12/15 of NEXT year (2012)? Wouldn't he be better off waiting until Jan. 2 to deposit (I'm in the same boat)?

          Thanks,
          Zach

Hi Zach - Thank you for your post. If you deposit a 2012 week (today for example), you would have from today and up until December 15 of 2013 in which to use it. 2013 is the following year of your deposited week.

            Does that help?

That definition has changed then. In the past the bonus weeks were good for the year. This past year they were good for 1 year from the date of the deposit transaction. Now I am reading that they are good up to Dec 15th 1 year after the date of checkin of the deposit you are making.

SFX keeps changing this window. Is it clearly stated somewhere on the website, as that is a different experience than what has happened in 2011.

Hi Vandesa - yes, it has changed. The new rule has changed in your favor. It now gives you a longer period in which to use your Bonus Weeks (LifeStyle Weeks).

                For example...

If you were to deposit a June 2012 week today, you now have from today and through December 15, 2013 in which to use that week. In this instance you now have "2 years" in which to use this Bonus Week.

With the old rules, if you were to deposit your 2012 week today in December, you would basically have just "1 year" in which to use it.

So with the new rules.... you are better off.

                Hope this helps,

                Thanks,

Ah..now I get it. It's 12/15 year following the deposited WEEK, not 18 mos.from the date of deposit. Yes, that has changed. Big difference, VERY cool !

That is different from the impresssion I had from the very nice folks at the call-in desk and also from the website discussion of Lifestyle Weeks. I suspect not all of SFX folks are on the same page quite yet.

Just a suggestion: you might want to update the website. The "SFX Promo Widget" still states the lifestyle weeks are good for 18 months (for the Prime and High season promos).

Mark - thanks for the clear and concise explanation.
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

                          “You shouldn't wear that body.”

                            Mark,

Thanks for explaining the new rule of lifestyle week expiration. On the widget page, when click on a date, it says "X BOOKINGS IN THE SFX LIFESTYLE WEEKS PROGRAM" without specifying the expiration date. Before, it says 18 months for prime season for dates labeled with green color. In terms and condition, it says "The number of bookings available and the expiration date is determined by the quality of the unit deposited and the current promotion(s) offered by SFX. " Is there anywhere else on your website stating the expiration date rule?

Lifestyle week pricing chart ends at 6-12 month. Now these lifestyle weeks can expire 12/15/2013 which is 2 years away, will the pricing be the same as tier 4 pricing for 12mon-24mon? Basically, too far in advance, the value plateaus, correct?

Also, on the page of lifestyle week pricing, the bottom small font says
"* Due to high demand and limited units, Additional fees apply for the following area – New York: $299; London/Europe: $299; San Francisco: $299; Hawaii: $199"

But in terms and conditions, it says "Lifestyle Weeks requested and confirmed for Hawaii, London, San Francisco, and New York City will be subjected to additional fees ($299.00 plus the original Lifestyle Week rate). " So is the upgrade fee for Hawaii $199 or $299?

If I put in a request against a deposited week, do I have the choice to use either lifestyle week or deposited week at the time of booking, which ever cheaper for me?

Does lifestyle week have the same trade power as its original deposited week?

Thanks a lot for all your help!

Hi Tiff - Thank you for your post.

On the widget page, when click on a date, it says "X BOOKINGS IN THE SFX LIFESTYLE WEEKS PROGRAM" without specifying the expiration date. SFX: The only place the expiration is stated is in the Terms & Conditions.

Lifestyle week pricing chart ends at 6-12 month. Now these lifestyle weeks can expire 12/15/2013 which is 2 years away, will the pricing be the same as tier 4 pricing for 12mon-24mon? Basically, too far in advance, the value plateaus, correct?

SFX: Although prices may increase in the future, your pricing will be locked in to the advertised pricing, based on you depositing your exchange week prior to the expiration of the promotion.

So is the upgrade fee for Hawaii $199 or $299?

SFX: Thanks for bringing this to our attention. It is only $199. Correction will be made to website today.

If I put in a request against a deposited week, do I have the choice to use either lifestyle week or deposited week at the time of booking, which ever cheaper for me?

SFX: Yes, you have choice. However, the LifeStyle week cannot be booked more than 12 months in advance. If the week you are requesting is more than 12 months in advance, then you would book the unit as an exchange.

Does lifestyle week have the same trade power as its original deposited week?

SFX: Technically the LifeStyle week has no trading power. Trading power is based on the week you deposit. It's the trading power of the deposited week that determines the LifeStyle week you receive. It is created this way to reward higher quality deposits with higher quality LifeStyle weeks. It is a fairer and more equitable system.

                              Hope this helps...

Merry Christmas & Happy Holiday Season,
