  • When can we search live against lifestyle weeks?

I made a deposit and received 5 lifestyle weeks but can't search against them. I noticed in a previous thread (early Octoberish) you mentioned that soon we would be able to.

Is calling in the only way we can use these?

Beach bumz - Thank you for your post. One way is to call and ask for availability...

Or, a work-around until the full search feature is ready for Lifestyle Weeks, is to do a search using your deposited exchange week to see what is sitting there. If you see a week you would like to book for your Lifestyle week, then call an agent and they will book it for you.

If you do not see a week you want just sitting there, then please call in and place a request with an agent. This is only temporary until the full search feature for Lifestyle Weeks is ready in the very near future.

    Hope this helps....

Yes it helps. Thanks for clarifying. I just wish I could see my 5 lifestyle weeks to make sure they're reallly there I'd also like to see their expiration dates.

Beach Bumz - we are totally with you on this. All details will be viewable online within 2-3 weeks. It's much more complicated to code than the previous Bonus Weeks which only had one set price. The LifeStyle weeks have variable pricing based on what size unit you book and how far in advance you book the unit. And this is why it's taking a little longer, but will be viewable online within 2-3 weeks.

Thanks for your patience, and your business.

At least it's not like RCI. I waited 5 yrs for RCI points online searchability that they promised me within the first year I joined. 5 yrs later, was still waiting and cancelled my account.

Mark - Somewhat related to this question is one that I have about valuations of different resorts. We are Shell members, and have access to many resorts, all with varying pricetags. In my perpetual effort to get the biggest bang for the buck, it'd nice to know which resorts are most valuable to SFX -the most Lifestyle Weeks, the best 'clout' if we're trying for hard-to-get places (or is that strictly a timing issue?), best chances for upgrades, etc. Thanks for any insights you can provide.

Hi Zach - I will be delighted to assist you with this.

The SVC Resorts that will have the highest trading power are:

1: Donatello - San Francisco (Any time)
2: Kona Coast Resort - Hawaii (Any time)
              3: Vina Bello - Napa Valley (March 25 - Oct 30)

              This is in random order.

              Hope this helps...

So...is there any way to browse the resort valuations / trading power or do we go through the widget thingy? Also, should I assume that the longer lead times (deposit-to-checkin span) provide better trading power? In that case I'll quit procrastinating and deposit my summer 2012 Holua week immediately.

Along this line, we'd like to book Manhattan Club sometime. Should we specify whether we're using a Lifestyle Week or an Exchange Week for the credit? Any difference in Trading Power?

                Thanks again,
                ------Zach

Hi Zach - At this moment, our IT department is coding our site to where you will be able to search for LifeStyle weeks and book them in real time. This is much more complex from a coding point of view than our previous Bonus Weeks. They were set a a fixed price, typically either $399/$499. LifeStyle weeks are much more complex as they have pricing formulas based on a more technical metrix. We anticipate live booking by the end of February. Until then... you can search using your deposited week. If you see what you want, call an agent and tell them you want to book it as a LifeStyle week.

We do not at this time disclose resort valuations /trading-power. However... if you refer to the "Widget", it gives enough information as to what weeks in your profile give you the best trading power. Any of the weeks I discussed earlier, give you enough TP for Manhattan.

                  Trading-Power is determined by...

Location /resort quality/unit size/season/ and how far in advance the week is booked.

In creating a fair and equitable criteria, those who deposit their week earlier and in advance, create the critical mass of space needed for other members to book. Therefore they are rewarded with higher trading power. In essence if everyone waited for April to bank their weeks, exchange companies wouldn't have any weeks to give you Jan-March.

I suggest at this time, login into your account and place a request for Manhattan against your deposited week (when deposited). Then when there is a match, you will have the choice of booking it as an exchange week or a LifeStyle week... your choice. As long you have a week bank, the TP equivalent is used for both exchange /LifeStyle weeks.

                  Thanks,

OUTstanding ! Thanks Mark. And just to verify from your 'sticky' on this subject, the fee for a Lifestyle Week would be based on the date of booking, not the date of the search request. Is this correct?

Hi Zach - that is correct. The price is based on how far in advance you actually book unit. Here is the pricing chart.
