  • Points Exchanges with SVC

    Hi Mark,

I am asking this here, because of a conversation I just had with a representative at SVC. Earlier this year, while they were still with RCI I made a points reservation for Carriage Hills that was given to your company and there were no issues.

Since they have now switched to II, I am being told that they are the "exclusive" exchange provider, and that I can no longer do this. Do you have any experience with this as of yet?

On another note, and less important I had posted another question regarding If I can call one of the agents and say, "do you have any pending requests for xxx on xxxx or yyyy at yyyy" is it possible to just have an ongoing list posted on the website of owner's current requests?

This way if I am debating on a making a deposit etc, I am more likely to deposit something people are looking for. I do not mind calling, but when you have multiple resorts, points systems, and floating weeks it is a lot easier to see a list of what is currently being requested and then matching what you have to that.

    Thanks again for your help!

Gandalf - Thank you for your post.

It sounds like you spoke with a rank and file agent who really doesn't understand the whole picture. Although I.I. may have an exclusive affiliation agreement with SVC, that simply means SVC will not promote or use any other exchange company. You as an individual have the legal right to request the service of any exchange company you want for your external exchanges.

Please feel free to reserve a week at your property and deposit it with SFX.

With regards to calling one of our agents to first find out what weeks are needed for current member requests... we do welcome this, and thank you for your considerate thoughts on this matter.

    Hope this helps...

    Thanks,

In our experience, the process of booking a week with SVC and then banking it with SFX has been extremely easy. If you can bypass the SVC agents (use their Point 'n Play) so much the better. If you've already banked your week into I.I., I suspect that gets complicated.

That's a great idea about talking to the SFX reps to search for requested properties. Talking with SFX staff is much easier than SVC.
