I have a Diamond SFX membership which does not require a week to be deposited until a week is located/selected (at least I think it works that way). I like to browse vacation availability to see what is available, and to get ideas for future vacations.

I notice that when I am on the SFX website and want to browse availability, I cannot see anything unless I deposit a week. That sort of defeats the see before deposit concept. I am doing somethin wrong or assuming something wrong?

Qb bc - Thank you for your post. As a Diamond Member, you can indeed Request First instead of Deposit First. With a Request First, you are required to call Customer Service and place a request for what you would like.

To view and book online, a deposit of your week is required. Needless to say, and for obvious reasons, an exchange company has a greater obligation to Members who have a week deposited, and they are given a higher priority, have higher trading-power and receive more benefits as in our Special offer promotions.

Although Requesting First may sound more favorable to a Member... it is in fact more damaging, because for the most part exchange availability is created by Member deposits. Which means Request First is counter productive because if too many people are doing that, it diminishes availability for exchanges.

Also, please keep in mind... as with all exchange companies, most exchange requests are fulfilled by placing a request and search, and not with online availability.

Having said that, you can view our Sell off list which is availablity typically within a 60 day window. You can book it at the low rate, or you may call an agent to book it as an exchange, and deposit your week at that point.

    Hope this insight helps...
