Mark, I think I'm very close to exchanging into a 2 bedroom at this location but I have a few questions before pulling the trigger?

1) are there any extra fees I should expect to pay, taxes? Internet? Spa use? Parking? Etc

2) does a 2 bedroom have 2 king beds? 1 king 2 queens etc

3) can I take food/drinks/beer from our room to the public areas, pool area etc?

I'm not Mark, but have been to this resort.....

We have stayed at this Grand Mayan. You will have to pay taxes upon check-out - they are not very high, maybe $20-25 for the week. You will pay for internet, and it is expensive - about $75-$80 for a week. There are often charges for the Spa. I am not sure about with an SFX exchange, but there are fees with RCI. We are owners, so do not have to pay any spa fees.

I am not sure about parking. We did not rent a vehicle. I think the parking garage was under ground.

The 2-bedroom unit we had did have 2 king beds. I think there are some units with double beds in the lock-off side. You can most likely request the type you prefer upon check-in.

You can usually take anything to the beach, but sometimes they monitor food and drinks at the pool area. We put some snacks in a beach bag and have some Bubba Kegs that we can put beverages in before we walk down to the pool. We start the day with water and end up with adult beverages in these. Someone usually walks back to the unit to refill the cups. We have never had a problem.

thank you for your reply, suggestions will be very helpful.

If Mark is around I'd like him to confirm charges for Internet fees, I recently called SFX and was told I wouldn't be charged fees for Internet but the rep wasn't exactly positive, it was more like " I'm almost sure there is no charge" I didn't push it since it's not urgent, I still have time before I make my decision.

So Mark, hopefully you read this as well as my first post and can confirm

Andy - Thank you for your post. The current information is as follows:

Internet charges:
$5.00 per one hour
$15.00 for 24 hours
$65.00 per week

Parking: $20.00 per week

Local Government Taxes are due at check-out.

There are fees for the Spa.

2 bedroom units have one king in each bedroom, and two sofa-sleepers in the living room.

We have been advised you may bring beer or food to the public areas
