  • $299 fee for NYC,SF,London,Europe

    Hi Mark,

I have been away from here and TS for a bit due to work and some family health issues. I was in the process of making a deposit of a couple of weeks and noticed this new fee.

I see there is a new fee for NYC, SF, London(Europe) of $299. Is that new? And if one deposited a NYC, SF, London week, do you get charged the additional fee as well if you use it to trade back in for a week that worked better for you?

Is this just charged for bonus/lifestyle/selloff week or for exchanged weeks as well?

I thought I read when I joined SFX last year that you can't trade back into the same resort you deposited...?

When I exchanged into Hawaii and San Fran, I didn't have any extra fees. I had the extra fees when I booked NY with Lifestyle weeks, I did have to pay $299. extra.

okay that is clearer and relatively fair. But if it is under 14 days and on the selloff list, would they still charge the offcharge? A studio in SF for $159 is a great deal and I would take it if I am in the neighbourhood just for 2-3 days say. But 458 would make hotels cheaper for me.

I believe that there are no addtional fees for weeks on the selloff list. The price takes into account the location. On the other hand, bonus weeks have a set price plus a premium for a select few locations.

Mark should explain how it all works.

Hi Mary - Thank you for your post. The $299 upgrade fee only applies to our Promotional Bonus Week offers (Now called LifeStyle weeks), that are awarded for depositing your week for an exchange. Reason being... for major cities where hotel rates for a decent hotel (not the best) are between $240 to $400 per night, (averaging $2,200 for week) our fees were very under-priced for those markets, where demand is far greater than supply. Even with our nominal upgrade fee you are only averaging about $100 per night in these locations.

HOWEVER... In our Sell-Off List (which is typically space available within 60 days of travel), you do Not pay the $299 upgrade fee. You only pay the advertised price.

These upgrade fees Do Not apply to your exchanges. If you have enough Trading-Power for SF, NY and London... you just pay your exchange fee. Exchange weeks cannot be used back at your resort where you own. The whole purpose of all the incentives we offer is to encourage members to trade out, so others can trade in... making the exchange process work.

            Hope this helps...

            Thanks,
