    Hi Mark,

Neither of the following properties are currently on my profile

    Fox Hunt (Sapphire, NC)
    Little Sweden (Fishcreek, WI)

I am wondering if a president's week reservation at either of these would be considered prime weeks for next year?

Hi Gandalf - thank you for your post. Nice resorts, however in the big picture of supply vs demand, they wouldn't qualify as prime time during President's Week. There may be "local" demand, but the real demand for that week are the slopes in Utah, Colorado and Lake Tahoe CA.

Prime Time demand for those two locations would be June - September.

    Hope this helps...

    Thanks,

It does, however when I called to add some resorts to my profile I was told both Fox Hunt and Little Sweden were not acceptable, even during the summer months?

Some additional questions, and I promise not to bother you again (at least for awhile! I am looking at making a couple more deposits including another Easter week at Carriage Hills in addition to a week at Lawai Beach (which one has not yet determined). Does having multiple weeks deposited have an effect on trade power and make my search more likely to match, or “move me up the ranks”

Does the inability to utilize my week (if nobody takes it, etc) will that effect my ability to get a week I request? I ask because although I deposited a prime Easter Week, last year since it is in Canada I assume that it is getting less trade power compared to a resort in the US, and due to the localized demand you refered to. I guess using the theory that not all prime weeks are equal and that within that category there is further sub designations.

Just looking to see what affects my deposits will make. If I deposit the Lawai beach, I know that will have the greatest power since it Hawaii. Right now, a request for a week in the Bahamas is tied to my first Easter Week. Will I have to reattach it to the new Hawaii week for a better chance of success?

I have yet to make an exchange, but have been leaning towards SFX as my preferred exchange provider however until I make an exchange it is difficult to decide. I would hate to give away weeks, and never get anything in return. Maybe my patience is just not good enough!

One last question, which may have already been answered somewhere. As part of the deposit, you get a deposit extension for 18 Months (which I was unable to take advantage of having no deposits) and one re-instated week. If I have no expired weeks, I assume like the first deposit that I just loose out on that part of the promotion?

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get my head around all this Trade Power stuff.

No. Each week has it's own trading power, and searches are based on each week's separate trading power.

Does the inability to utilize my week (if nobody takes it, etc) will that effect my ability to get a week I request?

No. Whether your week gets utilized by another member or not, has no effect on your trading power to receive an exchange. You are correct in stating "not all prime weeks are equal". There are a number of other factors.

Right now, a request for a week in the Bahamas is tied to my first Easter Week. Will I have to reattach it to the new Hawaii week for a better chance of success?

Not necessarily so. What time of the year are you trying for the Bahamas? Also, that island is very limited in quality resorts. Most of them are way below par, which means if there are only one or two "decent" properties, versus five or six... then availability is more challenged.

I have yet to make an exchange, but have been leaning towards SFX as my preferred exchange provider however until I make an exchange it is difficult to decide. I would hate to give away weeks, and never get anything in return. Maybe my patience is just not good enough!

For anyone to give a week and not get "a" week back, assuming your were flexible on dates and locations, is very difficult to do. All of the existing exchange companies can offer you a good week somewhere. It may not be your first choice, but that doesn't mean you can't have a great vacation somewhere.

As part of the deposit, you get a deposit extension for 18 Months (which I was unable to take advantage of having no deposits) and one re-instated week. If I have no expired weeks, I assume like the first deposit that I just loose out on that part of the promotion?

Exactly... you do need to either have an expired week, and/or an existing deposit not used, to get the extensions etc. However... the remaining benefits are greater than what any other exchange company offers.

Hope this helps... and if you have further questions, well... that is part of my job description .

        Thanks,

            My 2nd deposit

I just recieved confirmation of my second deposit with them. Have also gotten an offer for one of the Grande Luxxe in late January / early February however I was told the upgrade fee was $499 when I thought it was $299?

Could you verify Mark? When I asked the agent where on the website it was listed as $499 they could not tell me and all information I have seen was for $299.

I did see the extension on my already deposited week (which was great), although do not see anything about my "lifestyle" weeks. I only see my two desposits, and two bonus weeks so believe I got three but not sure.

Gandalf - Thank you for your post. The $299 upgrade fee for an upgrade to the Grande Luxxe was a limited special promotion rate. The regular rate is $499. This level of product is a Residence Club that sells for around $100,000 per week. Very shortly it will only be available in SFX Private Reserve, which will be a collection of that caliber of property.

LifeStyle weeks credited to your account are not viewable online at this moment, but will be viewable very shortly. Previously when we called them Bonus Weeks, they had set pricing eg. $399 for a 1 bedroom unit, whether you booked it 14 days in advance or 12 months in advance.

With LifeStyle weeks, they are "variable" pricing. You now pay according to size of unit and how far in advance you book. Therefore the coding is much more complex and is being written at this time.

If you would like to P.M. me your name and account number, and can verify they are in your account. Until online view and book coding is launched, you can call an agent to check for availability or start a search for your LifeStyle weeks.

              Thanks,
