  • South Pacific?

    Mark,

Does SFX 'do' Tahiti or Fiji? Australia? If not, is this something you guys are thinking about offering in the future?

Whodat - Tahiti, I don't believe there are any high quality resorts. Fiji, there is the Worldmark property. So yes to Fiji.

Australia ... also a yes. We do not get many requests for Australia for the following reasons which you may also want to take into consideration. Because of the time, distance and costs, a one week timeshare exchange to Australia doesn't make much sense. Even for two weeks, it's such a massive and wonderful continent to see, do you really want to be anchored down to one location for a whole week? In investing all the travel time to and from, and the cost... plus it will probably be a once in a lifetime trip, for most it makes much more sense to go for 2-3 weeks, stay at hotels and tour around maybe 3-4 different regions taking in as much as possible.... and saving their timeshare weeks for geographic locations that perhaps make more sense.

Subject to availability, we can access any quality resort in any system, worldwide.

Oh Mark, I beg to differ on Tahiti. I have just seen some pics of some 'resorts' in Tahiti and they are absolutely lavish. Here's a link to the Sheraton/Starwood resort on Bora Bora:
      http://www.tahiti-explorer.com/hotel...raton_nui.html
I don't see how anyone would consider this less than 5 star. Especially the above-the-water huts. I was suprised myself. Take a look at that link and tell me what YOU think?!

Anyway, I see what you are saying about Australia and will take it on advisement. Technically though, I could stay in a timeshare resort for a week then commence to seeing the rest of the island on a second week there. Just exploring options for now. I have enough vacations planned for the next two years anyway but a friend piqued my interest in the South Pacific with some out of this world pictures. Thanks!

Whodat - thank you for your reply. That is one beautiful resort. I can't wait to take out my credit card and pay about $3,000 for 7 nights of rent at that great hotel....

What am I saying !!! Am I losing it?

I would much rather spend $149 for an exchange fee and save all that money, but not at that resort because it's not a timeshare... it's a regular hotel. I don't believe you will find any quality timshare resorts in Bora Bora or Tahiti (unfortunately).

IF this was a timeshare.... Mark, you would get a hell of a line up for that one!

I didn't say it wasn't expensive! But frankly, I know people who have paid that for a cruise (to get a single room). Complete nirvana would be paying $149 exchange fee to trade into one of these places, which is the reason for my original question to begin with. Ah, yes Tahiti....maybe one day. I'll see what's in Fiji for now.
And I agree, there are no timeshares on Bora Bora (or Tahiti) from what I've seen.
            Have a great day!
