Membership renewal

Hi Mark,

I have a Platinum membership that expires in July. It has come to my attention OY that the Platinum membership will no longer be offered and I will need to either upgrade to a Diamond or downgrade to a Gold.

I checked the SFX web site and they will still allow me to renew the Platinum. However I read somewhere that the Diamond membership is not a lot more expensive than the Platinum. Somebody was offered the following for Diamond.

3 year Diamond $299
5 year Diamond $399
10 year Diamond $699

Could you please tell me what my options are and how much they cost.

New SFX Membership levels

As many of you have noticed, big changes are afoot at SFX Preferred Resorts. Since its inception, SFX has prospered in this competitive industry by being somewhat different than our competitors. We are rolling out a new web site, simplifying our membership levels to eliminate our Platinum level membership, and adding more value than ever to our “new” Diamond Membership. If you are an existing Platinum member, as a thank you for your business, in the coming weeks we will be upgrading you at no charge to our new Diamond level. When you are ready to renew, the new Diamond Membership is equal in pricing to the earlier Platinum Membership.

The Bottom-Line… For the same pricing, you are getting more benefits and money saving opportunities!

At SFX, our domestic and international exchange fees are the lowest in the industry and the quality of our resorts and customer service scores continue to be the highest in the industry. If you are looking for an exchange membership option, we invite you to call and review our new Diamond membership plans; they have never been this affordable. Our new website is being rolled out in "phases" over the next few months. Like most large construction projects, changes will be completed over time and we hope to minimize the disruption of our improvement initiatives to our members. There has never been a better time to be a SFX Preferred Resorts member, we are striving to deliver more value for less cost. Enjoy the journey.

For those who are existing Diamond Rewards members, SFX will be renaming the membership to "Diamond Elite" in the very near future. All existing benefits will remain, and will add even more exciting benefits to this “Elite level” membership in the coming months. With prepaid cruises and vacation stays, and greater savings annually on all travel products, this membership level represents the best option for members who are "highly traveled".

I've always been gold with SFX and haven't really used it that much. I am considering doing a multi-year diamond. If I upgrade and look around but don't think it is worth it and I haven't done any transactions, would it be possible to cancel and get a refund on the multi-year upgrade within the first 30 days?

Thanks Mark. Looking forward to seeing the new changes, hopefully some better discounts with my thousands of points I've accrued.

On a side note, I almost exclusively use SFX now. I only used RCI once. haha

Hi Kevin - Thank you for your post. A number of the new benefits will become more apparent when the new website is completed. Unfortunately it will still be under a lot of "major construction" for about another 4-6 weeks. We chose not to wait another 4-6 weeks for the completion, in order to start rolling out some of the new benefits and testing them with customer feedback. With the new Diamond membership, members will be saving money on almost every transaction they make with SFX. Diamond can cost you less money than the Free Gold membership, because of the savings on transactions.

Thanks Mark for the update. I'm very excited about the changes to SFX and I am thoroughly happy with my membership! Best decision I ever made in regards to my timeshare!
