Is there a fee for guest certificate if you are a Platinum Member? Also, is there a fee to transfer it to someone elses account.

If you contact us after the exchange has been booked and ask for a name change, then there is a $39 fee.
If you wish to transfer an exchange to another Member's account, you would simply just have their name as the guest on your unit. The same rule applies... if we have their name up to the point of booking, there is no fee. If we book the unit in one name and later on you contact us to change it to another, then there is a $39 fee.
Hope this helps...

Mark, just so that I am clear, I have a bonus week, can I transfer that bonus week to another SFX member or do I need to make a reservation for that SFX member or someone else and use a guest certificate to get it in that person's name.

You would login to your account, place a request and state their name as the Guest. Your Guest can be anyone, whether they are an SFX Member or not.
Hope this helps...

The reason it is simpler, is because the bonus week is part of a transaction that is the result of a qualified week being deposited. All these parts are connected. Canceling the bonus week from your account, then moving it to another account that didn't qualify for that specific bonus week in the first place involves more processing time.... and this is why it makes more sense to simply give us your guests name. For you the end result is the same.
Hope this helps...

Mark, Please pardon my confusion. You said place a request and enter the name of our guest...so we can't let a "guest" choose a destination, even if he/she is a member of SFX? I'm trying to accomplish giving our week to someone who is a member. Jean

I think the confusion is who it is simpler for, the member giving away the week or SFX . Sometimes, it may not be as simple as you've outlined. The potential for complexity occurs when a range of dates and options are selected. When I go onto the website and make my exchange time requests on behalf of a guest, aren't I the one that gets contacted back by SFX to see if the week available, fully matches the request? Then I would have to contact the guest and see if the match fits and then contact SFX back? I believe the possibility exists for me to become the middleman between my guest and SFX and that's something I may want to avoid. If the guest doesn't have an SFX membership, there is no way around this but if they do, then I think that's where some of the previous questions come into play.
If I'm wrong on the potential "middleman" issue, please let me know because I'm sure we all want this to be a win-win for all involved.

In the new upcoming site, there will be an actual field for the guests name and contact number in the Request screen area.
Hope this helps...
