We gave our niece a bonus weeks that was to start on November 19, 2006 and now the person she was going with can't go because of a terminally ill immediate relative. Our Niece does not want to go by herself. May I cancel that guest certificate and give it to someone else? Do have I any other options?

We cancelled the guest certificate and the rep said that there would be a fee to put it in my wife's name since it was a name change. Is this correct? Our membership is both in my and her name.

Yes, the guest certificate was not an SFX member. She couldn't go, but my wife and one daughter can, so we needed to cancel the guest certificate and put it in my wife's name (our account is in both of our names). Just checking for clarification. It is a name change on what was on the guest certificate.

To elaborate... When there is a name change, there are of course costs incurred. We wish it was as simple as just entering the new name in the computer. Here is an overview of the time and work involved for a name change...
Steps:
1. Booked guest communicates cancellation.
2. Enter new name in the system.
3. Print a report for the resort with name change information and fax to resort with updated data.
4. Wait for resort to respond acknowledging the name change. Update Member file with acknowledgement.
5. Print confirmation.
6. Mail confirmation
