I think she means can you use a bonus week to trade into one of these instead of paying cash. I'm guessing these are cash only rentals. Ya?

Phil - thank you for your post. Here is the opening paragraph ...

"The weeks advertised below are weeks we currently have no outstanding vacation requests for from our Members. *They are offered subject to availability at the time of your contact as either an exchange or a discounted rental rate known as a Bonus Week. Call 1-800-739-9969. Subject to the current Terms & Conditions of SFX. All transactions are final and non-refundable".

Jamal - thank you for your post. When you become a Member, you do not need to immediately deposit your week with SFX. It is up to you when you deposit, as long as the check-in date is at least 45 days in advance.

However... keep in mind the later you deposit, the less trading power you have.

I thought SFX didn't take studios or hotel rooms. I also thought SFX only took 5 star or gold crown (so what's with Chateau Orleans being accepted for deposit?) Also Westgates in Orlando...where's the appeal?

Not Mark, but IME SFX "gets" inventory from places other than deposits, hence the appearance of intervals that, superficially, they don't appear to accept.

I was a bit surprised to see the first Marriott on a sell-off list since joining SFX.....

Carol - thank you for your post. As a general rule we do not accept studios in resort areas, and also as a general rule we only accept Crown and 5 Star rated resorts for exchanges. As Pat explained in his earlier post, from time to time we acquire and have access to other inventories that are not Member or Resort deposits. These weeks are offered to our Members for additional get a ways at very low prices, and not exchanges.

Westgates in Orlando? Where's the appeal?? You are kidding right? Spring Break in a 2 bedroom unit at an I.I. 5 Star rated resort... About $2,300 worth of accommodations for only $699.... There's the Appeal !

In most cases our Vacation Sell-off list represents around an easy $1,500 per week in value for an average of $399 per week. That too sounds like a lot of appeal.

Mark...I wasn't kidding about Westgate. I heard that they're the worst pests when it comes to trying to sell guests timeshares, ringing your phone off the hook for most of your week staying there. Maybe they've changed, but I go on vacation for R & R and hate when I'm pestered.

And yes Stan, I've unplugged the phone many times at timeshare resorts. But sometimes I'm expecting a call (I don't have a cellphone, believe it or not...so sometimes I have to depend on the villa's landline, imagine that!)

I have to say Mark, I'm a little disappointed in SFX right now. I have had a request in with SFX for well over a year for a 2 BR in Hawaii during the summer of 07. This sell-off list includes plenty of Hawaii weeks (2 BRs too), although not during the time frame I requested. I've already resigned myself to the fact that SFX will NOT be able to fulfill my request. But if I see a 2 BR in Hawaii during the time I requested on the next sell-off list (and I'm not called about my request) I'm going to be steaming!

I sent you a PM on 1/25. You said you'd get back to me and I haven't heard anything. I'll resend the PM.

I can't afford to be waiting too much longer because I fear airfare increases (last check, it was $2000 r/t. That's without bargain shopping though...). I may pull out of this request anyway if it doesn't look good. Please let me know if this request is doubtful. There should be 07 inventory for Hawaii by now. It's almost March.
