Procedural question:
What happens to the deposit made while a platinum member if the member allows their platinum membership to expire prior to the deposit expiring?
Gold memberships appear to allow searching within 12 months of desired dates for such dates two years beyond the arrival date of the deposit, for a 149.00 exchange fee.
Platinum allows 18 months advance search with a similar deposit criteria and a 129.00 exchange fee.
If a customer wishes to request beyond the expiration date of their platinum membership, but within the parameters of a gold membership, will the website functionality allow that?
Currently, when experimenting, I'm seeing prompts (appropriately) to extend the platinum membership beyond its expiration, as searches are currently over the 12 month gold parameter. When they come within it, will the web site allow requests to continue for the period between when the platinum membership expires and when the deposit expires, even though the account will still currently (at time of search request) be platinum?
While I understand the business methodology, as a comment, I'm loathe to buy six years worth of membership to use one interval for exchange, as platinum membership extensions are a minimum of 3 years. I'm balancing the current 3 year offer of 179.00 from II that I accepted with the additional 20.00 exchange fee of a gold SFX membership exchange vs 199.00 for a 3 year extension of SFX platinum for a 20.00 savings on the exchange fee. Just crunching the numbers and trying to make some use of the excellent deposit I made about a year ago
