I own at the Grand Mayan. If I deposit a week with SFX, can I exchange back into a Grand Mayan either with my exchange week or bonus week? RCI restricts this, so I wanted to know what your policies are regarding Grand Mayan owners. Thanks.

TravelGal - thank you for your post. Great Resort !!!

If you deposit your 2008 week for the Bonus Week promotion, you will not be able to use your exchange week or your Bonus week back at your home resort. This is a rule we have for all members, regardless of where they own.

The reason for this is simply to encourage Members to trade out, making more space available for other to trade in. It's a directive that creates more space for Members.

Alternatively if you deposit your week, and have no interest in the promotional Bonus Week, then you may trade back in to another Mayan property other than where you own through SFX.

Please keep in mind, you can also deposit your Vacation Fair week from Mayan with SFX for an exchange as well.

A Similar MP?GM Question for Mark

What if you are a MP/GM owner and also own another non-MP/GM timeshare that you have deposited with SFX. Can you request MP or GM weeks?

I have one week that is not MP or GM deposited with SFX and have had a request in since late October or early November for Acapulco GM or MP for the week after Thanksgiving 2007. I have not heard from anyone at SFX. This is not a bonus week .

I have 3 weeks that I deposited with SFX when I joined last April, and have not been able to get an exchange yet. I have tried a couple of times, but nothing has been available. Once a request has been out there for 5-6 months, I give up and use RCI. On this one, I am about ready to call MP and use a VF week so that I can get the week I want. How long should I expect to wait for a confirmation?

My bonus weeks have expired, but that is OK, I was not able to use all the weeks I had available for the past 12 months. That is why I had made several SFX & RCI deposits.
