  • Royals and SFX

    Hi Mark,
I have been searching the archives regarding SFX and successful exchanges to The Royals/Cancun. I did find a recent post where you stated you do get deposits from the Royals but then on TUG I found this post:

    January 21, 2007, 05:40 AM #7

SFX does not get very many Royal resort deposits so its a very limited exchange possibility using them.
RCI only gets Royal Mayan 1 or 2 bedroom deposits.
Studio deposits of Royal Mayan weeks are not allowed with RCI or II for that matter.
If you want the Carribean,Islander,Sands or haciendas you would need to use Interval International for the best chanch of getting a exchange.

Mayan Palace or Grand Mayan Riviera Maya should be a easy exchange thru SFX or RCI. using SFX you don't have to worry about the pesky 1 in 4 rule
you do when exchanging in thru RCI.

I placed a request with SFX a couple weeks ago for a week to coincide with the week I already secured with II so that family can accompany us. It was a VERY easy match for me with II and it's over a year out. I have to admit, I am nervous now. Unfortunately,I can not be flexible in the date as The Royals only seem to have Sat check in so it must match exactly. I am left wondering if I am setting myself up for failure or at least a stressful wait in requesting the Royals with SFX. Any words of wisdom for me? Unfortunately, it's what I do......Stress

StressCadet - I don't know who wrote that article. How would they know unless they worked here? Quite frankly their "assumptions" are false and made out of ignorance. There are boards out there that unfortunately are rampant with false and misleading information.

Based on your post, it seems that you placed a request with severe restrictions for one specific resort and only one specific week. This goes against all the principles of successful trading as you allow zero Flexibility. However, if you would pm me your name and/or account number, I will take a look at the details of your request and respond to you in a Private Message.

Whoever wrote that also failed to even recognize the 1st Cancun Royal, Club International de Cancun (AKA-VCI). It seems to me from what I have heard and read that SFX does quite a few trades into the Royals.

        Mark,
Just to be clear-I am not flexible on the week-but I was somewhat flexible in that I said I would accept any Royal Resort-if I need to open up my options to other resorts-I imagine we could do that as well. I have PM'd you as requested.
        Thanks!
