Hi Mark,

Can you tell me if you ever receive any deposits for summer in Lake George? I'm trying to gauge whether we should wait for an exchange or try and find a rental unit.

From the posts I have read on TUG over the years it is rare to trade into the resort at LG. I have only seen it available once.

Don't know about SFX, but, it's extremely rare to see Lake George, in II.....Every once in a while, one shows up.

They may get them but they would be rare as hen's teeth. There are only 2 resorts that I'm aware of.

Lodges at Cresthaven has very high maintenance fees and because they just added on I would think very few resale opportunities. The developer price is very high.

The latest I have ever seen either on-line was Memorial Day with RCI.

My feel is that anyone buying summer there is using it themselves or renting it for big bucks.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for all your feedback. That is what I suspected based on my research. The unit we would require would be Prime Time Summer and the owner would be better off renting out the unit vs. depositing with any exchange company!

TravelSFX - Apologies, I missed you post until now. It's very rare we get deposits from Lake George. To be honest it's also very rare we get requests for that area. As the previous posters stated, there are only a couple of properties there and the usage by Owners in Summer time is exceptionally high.

Curious to know if the post from the past still hold true. I am curious as I would love to take my family of 3 down for a family vacation.

Do they ever have last minute openings through RCI?

This is a destination area, with a very high rate of owner usage for the summer season- so it's rarely found as exchange. You'll want to look at rental opportunities, and be prepared to pay a few dollars.. You may also want to look at chalet rentals at some of the RV resorts in the area. Often- people overlook those resorts and you can find availability remaining for prime weeks..
