  • Can another party deposit their week in my SFX account?

    Mark,
I exchanged timeshare weeks with another individual--he used my week and I had planned on using his week at our resort. As luck would have it, I now have a conflict with the dates of his reservation, and because it is prime summer season, nothing is available from the resort until this Fall. We are platinum SFX members, and I was wondering if there was some way to deposit this week into our account? It is a resort that SFX readily accepts deposits for.

Starbucks - thank you for your post.

I will start out by saying "yes", but here is the procedure. Because you are not the owner of the week, your friend would need to go online at https://www.sfx-resorts.com/secure/apply.asp and join as a Gold Member (It's Free, no charge).

They would then deposit their week online, with instructions that you will be the Guest user of the unit.

It needs to be done this way for several reasons, the main one being although they can assign their week to anyone they want, when the week comes into an exchange company's system, the unit has to be verified with the resort. They will not verify it unless it has the Owner's name and signature.

When the unit is used for another member trading in, when we send the inbound guest's info to the resort a few days before check in, the resort wants to know who the depositing "owner" is.

There are other items as well that involve tracking and crediting issues.

This is why it's just more efficient to have them become a member, bank the week online and have you as the guest name. You then will be able to login and place requests for your exchange.

    Hope this helps...

      Mark,

Thank you so much for your quick reply. I will be calling SFX in the next few days with the details. Would all of your representatives be familiar with this process, or should I ask for someone in particular?

You are a great asset to Timeshare Forums. Thank you for the time you devote to answering all our questions.

Thanks and you are welcome. They should be, but to err on the side of prudence, please email me at accounts@sfx-resorts.com when your friend has enrolled as an SFX Member and submitted the deposit. I will double check and make sure you have access to the use of the week.
