  • Request Reminder

If I remember correctly, a few weeks ago you mentioned, on this board, that beginning in June SFX would be emailing updates to members with pending exchange requests. Last week I received a "Request Reminder" from SFX. Is this what you meant?
If so, I have a suggestion: It would be very helpful if the email included some information beyond that which is readily available on your website. I'll tell you my details by way of example. I have two requests with SFX, both against the same deposit. One request is for St. Croix (not St. Thomas) next summer. The other is for the Turks and Caicos next month. My email says,

    "REQ# Location Search Range
    75231 Virgin Islands / St. Thomas 7/1/2008 7/21/2008
Click here to view all request details...."

I clicked and found myself at your website where the information has no details. I called your office and was able to confirm that my requests are in order, but that all of the information is in the comments that can only be viewed by SFX.

I wish that your website would show the "comments" section of members' requests.I wish that any email updates would contain additional information, such as "we are continuing to work on your request" or "your chances of getting this request are slim and none."

Timetraveler - thank you for your post and feedback, it is appreciated. We always welcome feedback so we may continually improve our service to our valued Members. I do know this Request Update feature is still in development.

When you clicked more details, it takes you to the login screen where you must login to the Member Area to see the specific details of your pending requests. You must go into this secure area of the site to see your confidential information.

To view any comments you make in the comments box is only viewable internally by agents. I do know is will be viewable online to Members within the next few days, so you can review any comments you made at the point of submittal.

The fact you are receiving a Request update, really does imply and indicate we have a current search for the requests displayed. As far as stating any difficulty factors or comments about your requests, you do already recieve such advisements when you place the request. Then you have to check the box acknowledging you have read and understood them. Items like... you have restricted the search to just one date, or a Major Holiday week, or Prime time requested only, etc etc. Any of these items indicate a greater difficulty factor.

When there certain requests made that are so restrictive, they obviously won't happen, you are advised upfront after an agent has reviewed them. If they are very difficult, but there is still a chance... it is our responsibility to aggressively search. Although Exchange companies never know when and if an owner is going to bank their week or use it, it is still our responsibility to search.

Once again, if you have any suggestions on what kind of improvements you would like to see in the process, we do invite your suggestions for review.

    Hope this helps...

      Mark,

What if we did not get a Request update in June? Does that mean you are not actively searching? I have had requests for months with no feedback. I used to get updates but there have been no emails for a long time. I have multiple requests on the same week and have had to cancel some of the them because, either RCI came through first, or we had to change plans. Does this affect the validity or priority of other requests for the same week?

              Mark,

It will have to wait until next week. I am presently in Wichita Falls Texas and won't return home until Sunday. The SFX e-mail is on my other computer at home.

Mark, I sent you a PM about a week ago, but I have not heard anything. Did you get it?
