Mayan Palace Reservation

I want to say how impressed I am with Scarlet at SFX. She has been very patience and efficient and very nice trying to fill our requests for Mexico and Hawaii and came through with both. Each request was for a specific week and the Hawaii request was also for a specific resort. THANK YOU, SCARLET!

I have one question regarding the Mexico confirmation. On the confirmation that was emailed to me, there is no reservation number. Is this normal for Mexico confirmations, or should I follow through with a request for the number?

Travelfan - thank you for the feedback, it is very appreciated. I will make sure Scarlet's supervisor gets a copy of your post. It sounds like you were sent a pre assigned unit that is supposed to have the resort's reservation number. On Monday you will receive a replacement confirmation that contains the number.

I didn't get reservation numbers either for my 2 confirmed weeks at the Grand Mayan - Rivera Maya for next April. The request numbers are: 10891 and 14592. I will need the reservation numbers when I e-mail the Mayan Palace for ground transportation.

Scarlet has been my regular rep for several years now and I think that she is great. I can't say enough about how helpful and attentive she has been.

Hi John - thank you for your post. I will check, but I believe we send you two confirmations for Mayan. The first one is an acknowledgement of the booking. Depending on how far ahead you are booked, there may not be a reservation assigned by the resort at that point in time. As it gets closer to the check in dates, the resort assigns their reservation number and we resend you a final confirmation.

I will check on this tomorrow.

John, not sure if you remember, but a few years ago I asked you who you were dealing with at SFX, and you recommended Scarlet. I have been dealing with her ever since, and I am very, very pleased.

It was also a few years ago that John recommended Scarlet when we first joined SFX. This past spring she found us 3 weeks together, 2 in Arizona and 1 in Palm Springs including spring break and Easter week. I have 1 week confirmed for next spring and she is working on the second.

Hi John Et Al - What I described above was the method used up till about 11 months ago. Since then you do not need the resorts reservation number in your confirmation any more. The SFX Req # (Request number) is sufficient in this instance.

Scarlet sent me new confirmations for the Grand Mayans 2 days ago with the reservation numbers.

Mark, I believe the Mayan Palace requires a reservation number in order to prearrange ground transportation from the airport for Riviera Maya. You do it via e-mail. That is how it worked last time and I don't see anything on their web site to indicate any change from that.
