  • Week expiration date issue

    Hi Mark,

    I deposited a Christmas week in 2005 with a check-in date of 12/24/2005. So the week spanned 12/24/2005 -> 12/31/2005.

    The expiration date for my exchange week is 12/24/2008 (I made an additional deposit which extended the expiration by one year.)

    Why is the expiration date not 12/31/2008? When I try to place my search request for the dates of 12/19/2008 -> 12/24/2008 as the range of dates for check-in, I get the following error:

    Invalid Request:
    - Search dates extends past the week's expiration date. All travel must be completed by the expiration date.

    This hardly seems fair when I provided a week that started on 12/24 and ended on 12/31 .. yet my search/use is limited to having to complete my travel on/before 12/24/2008.

    Can you explain the reasoning behind this or is this a programming oversight?

    Thanks.

    Please disregard.

    I was able to place my request for a check-in date range of 12/19/2008 -> 12/23/2008.

    Apparently, I can not check-in on the DAY that my exchange week expires but that's ok and it doesn't affect us in this instance.

      .. On second thought

      Sorry for flip-flopping on this, but I slept on it (apparently had a nightmare about it and woke up in a sweat ...)

      Why wouldn't 12/24/2008 be an allowed check-in date? It certainly is not "past" the original check-in date of my deposit as the error implies, and in the future, a single day could make a difference (for someone.)

        Hi TravelSFO - thank you for your post. The rule is you have up to two years in which to complete your travel. The programming is correct, as 12/24 would be 2 years and 1 day.

        If that extra one day was absolutely needed, I am sure if you call in and speak with an agent they would probably extend it for you.

        Hope this helps...
