However, those who request first have a lower priority than those who deposit first, and also will not qualify for any Bonus Week promotions.
(For the benefit of newer timeshare owners). The reason for this is... an exchange company has a liability and obligation to a Member who has relinquished their week. If everyone requested first, then it would be impossible to confirm anyone's exchange, as there would be no space in the pool. Exchange space is not created by exchange companies, it is created by member deposits, and sometimes from developer space which is fronted against future member deposits from their resort.
It is in every members best interest to have their exchange company promote deposit first vs. request first, because it's deposits that create the space that allows you to be booked.
However, for some Members our Request First option works best for them, and it is an option.
