  • availability at smoky mountain

    Hi Mark

When I was making the request, I can select mountain region for NC, SC and VA But in the directory, I don't see any resort listed under these area. The closest one is TN (2 resorts listed). Does this mean resorts availability in these area happen rarely ? In a general term, does SFX gets a fair number of deposit around smoky mountain area ? I am looking for July 2008.

    Thanks

GaryTam - thank you for your post. The current directory is a "Beta" model, in preparation for a new and improved site being launched in the very near future. It is not complete with a full directory.

To answer your question "In a general terms, does SFX gets a fair number of deposit around smoky mountain area ?".

Basically, "no". And the reason for that is, we do not get that many requests for that area from our Member base. Most of our requests are for areas of national and international demand, whereas the Smoky Mountain area is more of a regional demand. Because of these factors, we do not actively pursue marketing to timeshare owners in that area to deposit their weeks with us.

And here's the "However".... However, when we do get requests for these areas, we do have excellent contacts in our network within the industry that would (if available) gladly give us a week in return for something like Hawaii, London, New York etc. from our inventory of space.

Certain areas of very high demand, we aggressively market to owners for their deposits (in addition to working with developers), and other areas of lesser Member demand, we make a phone call or two and negotiate the space. Space negotiation is a common practice within our organization.

    Hope this helps...

      Hi Mark

Thanks for your quick response. I did put in a request for the mountain region of TN, NC and VA. With the "However" I will wait for a while before looking into rental.

      Cheers
      Gary
