  • Prime Holiday Week Question

Will Sfx accept the following weeks at Marriott Grande Ocean Hilton Head-3/29/08 and 4/5/08 for deposit into the Sfx system.

I am considering joining Sfx and see that these aren't considered prime demand or high demand weeks if I understand the chart correctly. Would they be considered major holiday weeks as they occur close to Easter and Spring Break?

And does Sfx publish a list of what you consider to be Major Holiday weeks for each year?

Yogiberra - thank you for your post. Great resort, and certainly qualify for SFX Preferred Resorts. For 2008, unfortunately they fall after the Spring Break /Easter Holiday period, and technically are not in prime time, as the Holiday period is over. (Easter week is March 23 -30 in 2008).

However, they are still very good weeks for an exchange company to receive, and will have good trading power. If you wish to deposit them with SFX, we would gladly accept them. There are a number of people who would rather travel outside of the Holiday period crushes for the obvious reasons... Kids are back in school, less crowds and much lower airfares. This appeals to the empty-nesters, which does represent a very significant number of people.

Major Holiday weeks: New Year, Presidents, Spring Break/Easter, Memorial Week, July 4th, Labor Day week, Thanksgiving and Christmas. There are of course other considerations such as major events in certain locations...eg. Mardi Gras and Jazz Festival in New Orleans, Fishing tournament in Cabo etc.

Hope this helps, and hope we can welcome you. Membership Application.

You might want to hold off a year.

Your April week will be Easter and a holiday week in 2010, 2012, 2015. Both weeks will be within SFX prime time (before Easter) in 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2014.

Eal - why would he want to hold off for a year? He would still get some great exchanges and benefits.

Now Mark, I know it is your job to be an SFX booster, but even you must agree that the OP would be better off, just for 2008, to stay within the Marriott system.

Easter is freakishly early next year, and that limits a lot of late March - early April units that ordinarily would be prime weeks with SFX.

Hi Eal - yes... if he wants to stay at a Marriott resort and only get one week of exchange for a one week deposit. But if his deposit qualifies for one of our bonus week promotions, then he would be gaining more than just a one week exchange, and therefore a greater advantage.

But I thought that only prime-season weeks qualify for bonus weeks, or do I have that wrong?

Hi Eal - As rule that is correct. However from time to time in certain instances, if a resort is of very high demand in a very high demand location and supply is very limited, then on a case by case basis consideration may be given to those properties for certain incentives.

                Hope this helps...
