I know you can't give what you don't have in inventory, however on average in past years what is(was) the chance of getting a SC - Charleston or Hilton Head, Va. Williamsburg or Washington DC one of the first two weeks of July? I know it is during a peak time and that is a factor to consider. Since we are almost inside the 9 month mark should I consider other options or continue to ride it out until May or June?
Thanks for any insight you can give me. I am trying to plan for my SIL's 50th birthday celebration.

Funtime - thank you for your post. We do appreciate your question, unfortunately we are not going to be able to give you the answer you looking for.

Last year we confirmed a high number of requests for that region and time... However, as with all exchange companies, last years numbers have absolutely no relationship or bearing to future possibilities for a successful exchanges that you request for the same locations and time of year. It would be irresponsible and misleading for an exchange company to suggest any odds, as there are too many variables that come into play.

Just think of what a terrible position it puts an exchange company in, if we suggested the odds were very good, and the space doesn't become available to match to your request. On the other hand a more prudent policy would be to suggest a high difficulty factor, and then come through.

I will add this; Of the first two weeks you are requesting, the first week is the July 4th Holiday week (the most demanded week of the Summer, therefore the least availability). That would leave you with the week after as a more possible week to fulfill. The downside being, your request is then for a specific week, and thus reducing the possibilities. I can appreciate and understand it's a special event, but that restricts the possibilities rather than help them, as Flexibility on travel weeks is always the correct placement of a request, if you can.

Because it's a special occasion, you may want to consider this. Book a hotel to guarantee your space (make sure you ask what their cancellation policy is) and place a request for your exchange. Best case scenario, the space becomes available for your exchange and we book you. You would then cancel your hotel booking. Worst case scenario.... you exchange request doesn't become available, but your trip is secured with a hotel reservation and you still have your timeshare week to use.
