  • So I just learned something about SFX!

Hi Mark. This is a follow up to a previous thread that some folks are unhappy with SFX. I learned from that thread that I can indeed speak to the agent that has been assigned my request, even if nothing has become available yet. I have been waiting for an exchange to HHI for July 2008. If I am not able to get the HHI week, I also want to try to possibly use my SFX week to go to the Birkshires. However, the SFX website does not list the Birkshires at all. So I assumed that SFX never has availability in that specific area. So I called SFX like you said I could on the other post. The initial person I spoke to was very business like, not particularly friendly, but not particularly rude. I asked to speak to my agent. She tried to explain to me that if there was a match, I would be called. She realized that I was not happy with the way the conversation was going, and sort of abruptly asked me if I wanted to speak to my assigned agent. I did agree, and was connected to my agent. This woman was extremely helpful and lovely to deal with. She gave me the opportunity to express my desire to go to the Birkshires as well, however SFX does not list any resorts in that area. This very nice woman told me that that area is not listed, however from time to time resorts do become available, and she would be very happy to add it to my request. So at this point, I am happy. If I did not communicate with you about specificially speaking with an agent, I would have never known to outright ask to speak to her and that she was indeed able to help me by requesting the Birkshires as well. Thanks.

Hi Marie - Thank you for your post. I am glad you brought the subject up about speaking with an agent. With regards to your request for Hilton Head for next July... most people industry wide have not yet banked their 2008 weeks. One of the reasons is because they haven't yet been billed or have chosen to pay their 2008 "maintenance fees" at this time. That is one of those bills people are typically not in a rush to pay. Many of next years weeks start to get deposited around November and December.

    Hope this helps...

    Thanks,

      Mark

At one time, quite awhile back, I asked for a list of the VC's names & the area they specialized in. I thought this was a sticky but I don't see it now and at any rate it would most likely be inaccurate after all this time. I do know there has been some change in personnel.

Perhaps it would be helpful for your customers to have the names & extension numbers of the various VCs so that they could call & leave messages without having to go through the "receptionist" who apparently has never had any customer service training. I strongly suggest SFX consider some remedial training for this front-end employee. The perception persists that SFX is difficult to use because of poor communication. The VCs that I have spoken to during my limited phone conversations have more often than not been extremely helpful & pleasant. However, all my calls went through an extension number & I have not had to speak with your receptionist. Frankly, I would take my business elsewhere if I were to be treated rudely by the receptionist of any business.
