Mark I joined SFX a couple of days ago. I got info from you about 1 month ago about my Sedona Springs timeshare. I have already picked my week for 2009.... Its Easter week which SFX considers prime. Is there any advantage for me to bank it now or should I wait till about the middle of next year to see if there will be special offers?

Bob - thank you for your post and Welcome !!

It certainly is to your advantage to deposit your week now, because the further in advance you bank your week, the higher your trading power. You will qualify for a 3 for 1 promotion for your 09 Easter deposit, as per the same pricing, terms and conditions as the current 08 promotion.

    Hope this helps...

      Mark,
I'm in the same situation as Bob. I have week 27 at Cottages at Shipyard in Hilton Head. I am planning on depositing that for 2009. I was planning on waiting until the next promotion for various reasons.
      • I need two bonus weeks for 2009, one to Florida, one to Mexico.
      • I want to use my exchange in 2010.

If I could meet these objectives by depositing now, I will do that next week. I imagine I would also upgrade to a platinum membership as that would allow me to request up to 18 months in advance.
      TIA,
      Jim

        Mexican Bonus Week

        Mark
Simliar scenario as previous posters except my question is,
if I join SFX and qualify for Mexican bonus week (which I have been told by SFX that I would), how likely is it that I can use it for an exchange in Cancun in March 2008???
I understand that nothing can be be guaranteed or implied, but based
on your previous experience, what are the chances that a week may open up at one of the 4 Royals in March????
        Thanks,
        Paul

Jim - thank you for your post.... Ditto. By all means please deposit your above week. You will qualify for exactly the same as described in the earlier post. (Same offer, price, terms & conditions).

          Hope this helps...

          Thanks,

Paul - thank you for your post. Unfortunately we are not allowed to quote possibilities. If we imply the odds "may" be good, and nothing becomes available... then you wouldn't have too many nice things to say about us.

I will say this... February and March are the two most premium demanded months of the year in Mexico. This late, I wouldn't be restricting it to one specific chain of resorts, I would be excited if I got almost any high-end Crown or 5 Star rated resort.

I am sorry I cannot be more specific.

            Thanks,

Mark in your anwer to Jim you said he (and I) would qualify for the same promotions as the 08 promo..... Does that mean we would have to use our bonus week in 08? Or as Jim asked would we be eligible to use our bonus' in 09 and our deposited exchange in 2010.

                Bob,
I was going to wait until Mark answered but went searching for the answer while I waited. Katie made an excellent summary of SFX membership in this post. Mark replied she was correct. There Katie stated the following:

Originally posted by katie View Post

Note: In the past, one year extension have been offered for any unused and/or expired exchange weeks on deposits made during the promotional period (rewarding those who deposit earlier)
                • Trading Power – based on a combination of demand, supply, location & time of deposit (not dependent on Gold or Platinum membership)
Note: Deposit First has a higher trading power than Request First

                ... snip ....
                • Expiration – bonus week is good from the day SFX receives your deposit until either one year or December 31 of the check in year of your deposited week (whichever is greater)
Note: In the past, bonus weeks have never been given extensions
Note: Use Bonus Weeks first since they expire before Exchange Weeks
It looks like SFX will be able to do what I (& probably you) want. I also called SFX and confirmed most of this. The one piece they had to add was that the cost of the bonus weeks would be $399.00. I plan on depositing my week today. When I talked to SFX I was told it would be better to bank online than on the phone. Then I would get the confirmation paperwork that I had to fax to SFX online when I deposited the week.

Hi Bob - sorry for the delay. We have been moving into our new corporate office building in the last few days.

You would have from the day you deposit your week and up to December 2009 to use your Bonus weeks. That means you have about 2 years.

Your deposited 2009 week would expire in 2011.

                  Hope this helps...

                  Thanks,
