Mark, I have stayed away from you Forum due to exchanges in the past. However, now I am smoking. I called SFX. Figured I would ask them where they can send me. Where they would suggest are my best chances of getting an exchange. I called my rep. Elena, and left a voice mail for her to call me. I explained that I am looking for a week in April of 2009. I know, long time out. However, I explained that I wanted suggestions of where to look that there would be some availability. Also said that Mexico and Hawaii were out. ANYWHERE else would be taken into consideration. I received a return call from another rep. by the name of Jennifer. She told me that Elena was very busy and that she (Jennifer) was helping her out. I explained to her that I have 3 weeks that are going to expire in June of 2009. I will consider anywhere for Easter week of 2009. Can she just SUGGEST somewhere that I might likely find an exchange for my week deposited. Anywhere except Mexico or Hawaii. Her response: Mexico. I then said, I don't want Mexico. There must be somewhere else you can recommend. She told me no. I then said, but you must have some idea from prior history where the availability tends to be at that time of year. She told me they have no way of knowing. Come on! She did not even ask me if I wanted cold, warm, remote, city. Nothing. Simply would not commit to any suggestions. No, I am wrong. She did make one suggestion. That I email Cory who apparently is some head person there at SFX. She was also quick to give me his email address. I told her I just don't understand. I have had HHI searching for some time. Both February and July. When I go to RCI, there are 15 resorts for me to choose from, some GC and some SC. I have had requests in for several places for Easter week. Yes, I know it is difficult to get that one specific week. So at least give me some hints of where I should go. I really am ripping mad right now.

I am not deleating this thread. Mark, kind of interesting that you can discuss my account online with specifics, but I can not discuss my dealings with SFX. I'm sure that I have been flagged by the person who is handling my account, and she chose not to call me back personally. All I am looking for is SUGGESTIONS on where the most availability would be. I'm done with SFX after these weeks are used or expire.Ann-Marie

Ann Marie,
I suggest you copy your post into the exchange forum as Frank suggested. I think this is important information that people considering depositing with SFX should know about. There are no "rules" that say you can't talk about your own business dealings with a company, here (in the exchanging forum) or elsewhere on the internet on other timeshare boards.

This is good information for people IF it wasn't so individually specific. I'm sure if the question posed were simply, and I quote, will consider anywhere for Easter week of 2009. Can she just SUGGEST somewhere that I might likely find an exchange for my week deposited that this would be acceptable for all.
We do not edit here if at all possible. If you want to share with the group as camachinist has in the exchanging forum that is equally fine.Lawren

Our customer service reps should be returning their own calls, you should not be getting the run-around. When asked specific questions they should answer, not give non-answers like RCI always does. Thank you for bringing this up, I'll take care of it.

I for one hope that this thread is not removed. I have read so many positive reviews for SFX here and OY. I am now intrigued, particularly with regard to the post stating "if I had understood . . ." Inquiring minds want to understand too.
Why is Mexico the only option? Mexico is sometimes hard to get during Easter week.

As I stated before, all I am asking for are suggestions on where I should consider. Then at least I can do my research to see what the weather is like in April, area is like, things to do, etc. I just find it hard to believe that a rep can not tell me that SFX gets a lot of deposits in such and such a place besides Mexico and Hawaii. Where have many of the exchanges been for this April? Easter week? That's all I am asking.Ann-Marie

Hopefully these tips might help you with your offline conversation with Mark.
(1) Using the current online SFX directory for possible exchange areas
from post # 13 on this thread -
...we do very well in every area in our directory. Of course some areas better than others. Obviously its easier to get an exchange into an area that has 20 resorts vs. an area with only 3 resorts.
from post #4 on this thread - -
We network with a number of Exchange Companies and have strategic alliance relationships directly with many resorts. Subject to availability, we can access any quality resort in any system. So, please go ahead and submit your request and we will check for availability
Good Luck
