spring break/winter break exchanges

I was wondering what my chances are of getting a sprink break/winter break exchange at one of the grand mayans for 2009??? Should I pay to be a platinum member. I have had luck with RCI in the past in getting peak holiday weeks by depositing 18 months early. Any thoughts or suggetions??? If you do not think this is a likely trade, I will stick with RCI even though I know I can't go back to a Mayan property because of their
1 in 5 rule.

Bethdahl - thank you for your post. A lot depends on what you own, when you bank it, which will give you a trading power value. Then of course, the otherside of the equastion is availability at the resort, where and when you want to travel, and how Flexible you are on travel dates.

Perhaps you could PM me where you own, unit size?
