  • Holiday Week - Christmas/New Year

What is your definition of Christmas/New Years weeks? Is it the week that Christmas fall in and the week that New Years fall in, reguardless of how they are numbered by the resort?

That is how I would define it. Christmas week must contain Christmas and New Years week must contain New Years. What I find frustrating is that with the numbered weeks system almost all resorts use, it is impossible to buy a week that will always include Christmas or alway include New Years. Even at many floating weeks resorts, 51 and 52 are sold as fixed weeks. The closet I have seen to this is when week 52 owners always get first shot at week 53. They will always be able to get New Years.

In a perfect scenario, Christmas Day and New Years Eve will be after the check in day, and the same with New Years Eve. If those actual days are on the check in and check out days, then the value diminishes greatly.

Xmas and New Year are always Holiday weeks, but the value is dependent on how close to the actual Holi-day is the check in day. - hope this helps.
