While talking with Jennifer this week confirming a week at the Mayan Palace, she stated that I had travel insurance included as a Platinum member. However, the confirmation I received states "Timeshare Protector Travel Insurance is available as a pre-priced component of your vacation package. You have declined this coverage and fully ....etc." Do I automatically have the coverage as a Platinum member?

When did you become plat? If you scroll down this forum you will see where Mark answered my question about plat and travel insurance. It basically said if you became plat on or after 5/1/08 or if you added an additional year to your existing plat membership that it would be included at no cost. If this is the case with you-then ask them for a new confirmation. Mine said the same as yours but I asked for new one and they emailed it right away including the travel protection clause.

I have the same situation...so I extended my platinum membership for a year and have asked for a new confirmation but have been told some dept. is still writing the additions..hmm...confused...anyway then I look at my account online and the i year has not been added on to my membership.....I have an email out to Scarlet regarding, but have not heard back yet, and since W/E, probably will not till next week...hopefully all this gets straightened out...
anyway I am holding off on more deposits until this is settled..one thing at a time LOL.Timeshare Addict - Mexico Travel Abounds - Happy Vacations!!

We are restructuring the Platinum Membership, and Travel Protection will continue as an "optional" and strongly recommended feature, pay as you go. Very shortly, we will be announcing additional benefits of Platinum Membership.
