My parents own a timeshare through Raintree Vacation Club. Through RVC they have the ability to exchange their week for a week at an RCI resort. The drawback is they have to use RVC to do the search through RCI's directory and the problem is every time they want to go somewhere they are told there is no availability. Their week with RVC gives them 54,000 RCI points.

They currently want to trade to go to either Napa or San Francisco in November.

They are also open to direct exchanges and with RVC own 16 different resort locations including their home resort at Club Regina Los Cabos.

I know they are looking for a comparable experience to the Club Regina in Cabo which I believe is Gold Crown and is the main resort facility they own.

How can I help them? What are they doing wrong?

    I think you misunderstood

SFX is another company Not RCI, and as such they don't know how to help you with the questions you have asked on how to work within RCI's system.

They can however offer your parents an additional avenue of exchange opportunities.

The way they work is that once your parents join, they can request an exchange, based upon depositing their underlying weeks ownership, which is a 1 bedroom, 2 bath prime season except Xmas, New years, Holy week, or Easter week.

The RVC system is unique, in that it isn't truly and RCI points ownership, but it can be used that way.

I think the OP really means to ask Mark f they accept Raintree deposits and wether there is a good chance to get a November 2008 San Francisco exchange for said deposit.

We have already answered all the RCI questions in another thread in another forum.

He's new so we have to give him some leeway.

Should have reworded the paragraph instead of copying and pasting.

I am basically asking if SFX could help them get to San Fran or Napa in the month of November using their 54,000 RCI points from RVC and still get a gold crown experience.

You still don't understand. 54,000 RCI points does you no good with another exchange company. To use SFX exchange company, your parents would have to book an RVC resort with RVC (not RCI) that SFX would accept as a deposit.
... not enough time for all the timeshares ®

acfbob - thank you for your post. If your parents have already deposited their RVC week/points into RCI for a future exchange, then unfortunately there is nothing we can do to help this time round, as they have to redeem their exchange through RCI.

If they have not deposited their week with RCI, then they could deposit their week with us (SFX), and we could probably help them with an exchange into San Francisco or Napa this year.

Not to confuse you, but another scenarion could be... If they have banked their 08 week with RCI, they have a couple of years in which to redeem it for an exchange. They could deposit their 2009 week with us, and request SF or Napa to be used in 2008, and they still have their RCI deposited week to use next year, so nothing is lost.

            Hope this helps...
