Successful exchange to Mayan Palace

Is Mayan Palace Riviera Maya that difficult to reserve?

I am not sure if this is the right forum to ask this but I am curious if you are referring to Thanksgiving week when you wrote November.

I wonder how it could be difficult to exchange into Mayan Palace Riviera Maya for any November since they built the additional nine buildings I saw last November/December.

I can understand it might be challenging for Christmas/New Year's/Holy Week/Easter though.

Will I probably need to book this resort a year in advance in the future? We like to use our 6 Senior Certificate weeks for Nov/Dec then Jan/Feb for the following year which would be good for the 2009/2010 or 2010/2011 season especially if the Velas resort is done and we can use 4 weeks of Velas before and after Mayan with El Cid for Christmas/NY in between.

I don't think MP is that difficult to reserve. Like you said, they have a lot of space and SFX has a lot of MX inventory. We're going 10/30/09-11/06/09 which is the week of our 25th wedding anniversary and we just wanted to plan early. I was just surprised they've got the availability so early or so quickly after we asked.

Georgeann, Jim got this exchange thru SFX exchange company - he did not reserve it directly thru the resort...it sounds as if u r an owner in the Grupo Maya?? so your reservation process would be different.

I was able to get 2 units at MP-Riviera Maya for Xmas week (2007) with SFX bonus weeks.
