Three related questions:

Are the Mexican bonus weeks always a Mayan?

Are the Mexican bonus weeks ever less than a one bedroom (hotel or studio)?

What are the chances of getting a Mexican bonus week in Cancun mid-July to mid-August?

1. No. They can be any resort in Mexico

2. No. One bedroom sleep 4. Upgrades may be possible for small fee.

3. Reasonable.

Hi Mark,

My confirmation letter for the Mexico bonus week reserved through SFX at VCI does not show any unit#. Is this correct?

I called VCI today to verify that the reservation is confirmed and they said that the system still does not show the reservation but the letter should be enough as long as it shows the unit number.

Hi Mary - the bonus week may be requested for any resort in Mexico, except The Grand Mayan Resorts. As with any request, the best results are typically obtained by requesting the area, and allowing us to find you a Crown or 5 Star rated resort.

confusing... I thought you said bonus week has the same exchange power as an owned week

Is there any other resorts that are sort of excluded by using bonus week?

We are talking about the Mexico Bonus week that was offered last summer which you get a Mexico bonus week for U$299 with a prime deposit rather than the regular bonus week which I believe is what you got with your deposit earlier this year...

Mary - the upgrade fee for a Bonus Week from a one bedroom to a two bedroom is only $149 for both Gold and Platinum Members at this time.

I'm not Mark BUT.....I have a search in using a Bonus Week for San Francisco...I was told the only exceptions for Bonus Weeks are Grand Mayan Resorts and London...as to why....it certainly makes sense that there be SOME restrictions on Bonus weeks and the Grand Mayan weeks are the most desireable of ALL Mexico TSs and London is the MOST difficult city to get into with any exchange company.
Compare SFX Bonus week with the Accommodation Certificate given to you by II and there IS no comparision at all....very restricted areas off season - they have recently taken all Caribbean locations off the AC except marguerita island - they are really only good for Orlando and within the 59 day search period.

Let me add perspective. In certain areas and properties, the demand is always greater than the supply of space. The Grand Mayans, London and New York fall into this category, and therefore are exceptions. To preserve the integrity of an exchange system, first priority must be given to exchanges, and those locations need primary allocation for fulfillment.

Understand that Bonus Weeks are essentially over-supply of space that are redistributed back to Members as an incentive-reward for various promotions and also a vehicle to generate incremental revenue to SFX for space that otherwise may sit empty.

Icydog - Depending on our promotion, there are different types of Bonus Weeks. For example....

1: Regular Bonus Week means you can request almost any location.

2: Mexico Bonus week means you can only request the Bonus Week for use
in Mexico.

3: 30 day Bonus week can only be used within 30 days in advance.

Sometimes we may offer a combination of any of the above. (Certain other restrictions may apply).
