  • How I Wasn't Scammed By Sfx And A My Apology To Them!

    Why I REALLY WASN'T SCAMMED BY SFX

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    FIRST LET ME APOLOGIZE FOR TYPING IN ALL CAPS. WITH MY ARM BROKEN IT IS EASIER FOR ME NOT TO SHIFT.

    MARK@ SFX HAS NOT POSTED BACK HERE BECAUSE HE IS BOTH A GENTLEMAN AND A FINE BUSINESS MAN. HE HAS ALLOWED ME TO EXPLAIN MY BEHAVIOR AND TO THEREFORE EXONERATE HIM AND SFX. I HAVE BEEN IN CORESPONDECE WITH MARK@ SFX AND AFTER READING HIS EMAILS I REALIZED I MADE SOME BIG MISTAKES. FIRST OFF MY BIGGEST MISTAKE WAS MY STUPIDITY IN NOT SEEING A PHONE NUMER ON THE SFX WEBSITE. ALSO I ERRONEOUSLY ASSUMED THAT SFX WAS DOING NOTHING ON MY BEHALF WITH RHC. THAT ASSUMPTION COULDN'T HAVE BEEN FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH!

    IN FACT

    SFX WAS NOT SCAMMING ME! I WISH TO APOLOGIZE PUBLICLY FOR THAT POST TITLE. I SINCERELY APOLOGIZE FOR ANY "BAD PRESS" I STIRRED UP HERE AND ON TUG. I APOLOGIZE TO MARK@SFX AND TO THE REST OF THE SFX TEAM. I AM TERRIBLY SORRY!.

    APPARENTLY I WAS NOT AWARE OF A LETTER SENT TO ME BY SFX IN FEBRUARY STATING, BECAUSE OF THE SITUATION OF RHC CLAIMING IT WAS A STUDIO, AND MY PERSISTENCE IT WAS A ONE BEDROOM, SFX ERRED IN MY FAVOR BY GIVING ME TRADING POWER AS IF IT WAS A ONE BEDROOM UNIT. AND THEY STILL ALLOWED ME TO KEEP THE BONUS WEEK! THE BOTTOM LINE IS THEY TOOK CARE OF ME, AND I WASN'T AWARE OF IT.

    ALSO MORE TO THE POINT, I SHOULD HAVE FOUGHT MORE WITH RHC AND NOT SFX. I HONESTLY THOUGHT THE SFX TEAM “JUST DIDN’T GET IT” AND FOR THIS, I AM ALSO GENUINELY SORRY! MOST DEFINITELY, I SHOULD HAVE BEEN SMART ENOUGH TO FIND A PHONE NUMBER ON A WEBSITE. THAT SMALL FEAT WOULD HAVE ENDED THIS RIGHT AWAY!

    THEREFORE, I DID NOT UNDERSTAND, EITHER THROUGH MY OWN STUPIDITY, OR FROM NOT RECEIVING THE INFORMATION SFX SENT, HOW MUCH SFX HAS ACTUALLY BEEN DOING ON MY BEHALF.

    IT IS WITH GREAT HUMILITY THAT I ASK FOR THE SFX TEAM'S PARDON. PLEASE UNDERSTAND IT IS SINCERE AND HEARTFELT

    PS BIG FRANK I ADDED A POST TO THE OFFENDING THREAD ON THIS BOARD ASKING IF YOU WOULD PLS CHANGE THE NAME OF MY ORIGINAL THREAD. WILL YOU PLS LOOK AT THAT POST AND CHANGE THE NAME OF THE THREAD FROM "SCAMMED BY SFX" TO WHATEVER YOU SEE FIT. THANK YOU. M

        Marylyn has certainly done the brave and honourable thing by explaining exactly what happened and that SFX has actually been very supportive throughout.
        It would have been the easiest thing in the world just to leave the board and say nothing.
        I'm sure her actions are appreciated by all involved.
        In order to keep the detail clear, and avoid unnecessary additions to this topic it is now locked. Members are of course free to discuss associated matters in the appropriate forums.

          Marylyn - thank you kindly for a very sincere apology which is graciously accepted and very much appreciated. We know it isn't so easy to step up in the responsible and professional manner you did. We are glad this issue is resolved and we can all move forward in a positive light.

          For all viewers, please know... In the event we receive your deposit, the information has to be verified with your resort first before released into the system and offered to other Members.

          Hypothetically if you state you are depositing a two-bedroom unit, and your resort states it is a one-bedroom unit... it's not that we don't believe you, it's more of an issue of prudence and caution, in which we must err in favor of the resort's information to protect the interests of the inbound Member trading in.

          Even if the resorts verification of unit size is incorrect, and we book you in good faith into a two-bedroom, you arrive and the resort maintains it's possible error of a one-bedroom being correct... at the very least you will be furious, and then some.

          Caution has to err in favor of the inbound guest, but also and equally important... what can you do for the depositing Member who feels in good faith their unit size has been incorrectly verified. After all... that will effect their Trading Power.

          Should this issue arise, (and it's very rare that it does), on a case by case basis we will also err in favor of the the depositing Member and credit their account with Trading Power that reflects the correct size unit they deposited. From time to time, a company that values it's Members and Associates will please both parties at their expense when deemed appropriate.

          In this particular instance, the inbound exchange guest was advised by SFX the unit was the size as verified by the resort. It was acceptable to them. We sincerely hope when they arrive they end up being accommodated in a larger unit they are not expecting. (Under promise, over deliver).

          For the depositing Member, whom we felt was very sincere, we considered the possibility of their resort accidentally confirming incorrect information, which we are bound by. To assist this valued Member, we adjusted their trading power of their deposit to reflect what they felt was a correct unit size. Unfortunately they were not aware of our letter of advisement until recently.

          At the end of the day... a Win-Win situation for the depositing Member and the guest exchanging in.... and an issue resolved.
