  • major events and major Holiday weeks are also considered Prime Demand season

    SFX Grid found here says:
SFX only accepts deposits in Prime and High demand seasons as designated below. In addition to these dates below, major events and major Holiday weeks are also considered Prime Demand season.

I just deposited, or tried to, a 2BR New Years Eve Week and recived the following:
We're sorry. we are unable to accept your deposit.
This may be due to a unit size issue or you might be attempting to deposit a week in a low season.
Thank you for using SFX Preferred Resorts online.
This is a major Holiday week. It seems like this is another SFX non-answer. If SFX won't take the 2BR holiday week, why won't they tell me why?

Is it a premier resort, silver or 5 star? If not, that may be the issue. If so, I would call, as it appears to be some sort of glitch

        Thanks,
OK, the issue is, I had called prior to depositing online and told the week was OK, then I get this non-specific email denying. While I don't understand or agree with your 80/20 BS, I can fully understand that some inventory is desirable to you and some is not.

Spence - We are confident that one day you will get to learn and understand about the common knowledge 80/20 rule within our industry. Whether you agree with it or not, is irrelevent.

As per my earlier post, if you would be kind enough to "PM" (private message) me the information you refer to, I can gladly look into it for you and provide an explanation.

Please PM as this board is not for private transactional discussions.

Dear Mark, I understand that this Ask SFX Forum is not for private transactions and I did not post the details of the transaction which would make it personal. I posted a generic experience.

Spence - thank you for your post. Although you have not responded with information I asked for yesterday (Your name etc) for me to help you with, I did take the initiative to trace your account to verify the claims you posted.

We definitely wanted to accept your deposits..... However, it's your "resort" who refused to allow you to deposit the units, citing they only allow prime Holiday weeks to be booked by Owners for personal use, and do not allow you to deposit those weeks for exchange !!

Which leads to the interesting question of, is their action "lawful?"

As an Owner at the property, you have the right to reserve and occupy space for your own personal use, and you have the right of "assignment" of your reservation to a "guest" of your choice. By depositing the week with an exchange company or a rental company, they allocate a "guest" to use the unit.

Is there anything in the CC & R's, rules and regulations that prohibit you the Owner from assigning your reserved Holiday week booking to a Guest?

              Sincerely,
              SFX Video

does not begin to describe what you are now saying.

I have already deposited that same time frame with two other independent exchange companies.

Anthing else you can tell me would be appreciated.

No, there is not, and two other independent exchange companies have accepted and verified weeks deposited with them from the same resort for the same week.
