How does Platinum Rewards fit in?

I got a phone call a couple weeks ago from a gentleman explaining that SFX and Platinum Rewards have combined to offer services for SFX members. I am still not clear on whether Platinum Rewards inventory is merely additional hotel and resort weeks available like an "extra vacation" for purchase, or whether our SFX deposited timeshare weeks can be used to make an exchange for Platinum Rewards weeks. Where can I get more information about how this new system works? Is there somewhere I can read more detailed information?

The annual fee is $249? Wow, that's a big difference from the old Platinum membership. I hope they didn't get rid of the old Platinum membership. I really don't need any of the extras that Platinum Rewards offer, like cruising or concierge service.

I'm bumping this up, hoping that Mark will answer. From what I know of the new platinum, it has more "benefits" but the price is much higher than the old Platinum membership. I also don't think these "benefits" are useful to me.

Miss Understood - Thank you for your post. Apologies for the delay, I have just returned from my vacation. Around the middle of next week, we will be posting a full explanation of our new tier of membership Platinum Rewards. This membership offers additional benefits than our regular Platinum Program.

Unfortunately due to the similarity in names (Platinum and Platinum Rewards), there are a number of people who are confusing the two programs with each other, or Platinum Rewards as a replacement for the original Platinum Membership. We apologize for any confusion, and will be renaming our original Platinum membership also next week, to clearly define the three levels of SFX Membership.

Next week we will provide much greater clarity. We thank you for your patience in this matter.

Hi Lynn - Thank you for your post. We have had a huge positive response from our member base, with a large number of members upgrading from Gold or our regular Platinum membership to the "new" Platinum Rewards level. (Not to be confused with "Platinum").

However, Platinum Rewards does not have value for everyone. For those who enjoy "mid to upper" quality cruises (not the lower range), and who also travel frequently, there can be significant savings and benefits.

For those who have no interest in cruises, and perhaps vacation 1-4 weeks per year, then our Gold Membership (which is still FREE, or our regular Platinum Membership, combined have lower costs and more benefits than other exchange companies) are still a viable option and a good value-proposition.

This will make more sense when we post full and accurate information which will explain the 3 different tiers of membership next week.

Any news yet on what Platinum will include and at what price? I'm in the process of acquiring a unit at Cypress Pointe, in Orlando, and thinking of depositing with SFX.

Hi Jim - we are a little behind posting all the information. It looks like it will probably be posted next week now. Do you have an interest in frequently taking Cruises?

Or is your preference land based vacations?

Jim -Welcome aboard, we are glad to have you as a new Member. It is very easy to upgrade from Gold to Platinum. Two choices...

1. You can call Member Services at 800.739.9969.

2. Or you can login, and then click the Profile Tab, scroll down to the upgrade feature and follow the steps.

I signed up today for SFX platinum, made a deposit, and requested an exchange. I hope to get a good exchange for a week early next year.
