    Became a new member and made 2 deposits on December 2, 2005 with Grand Summit Hotel, Park City.

    At that time, I requested a couple of options for anywhere Caribbean or California for winter 2006, which has now passed. Also had a request for winter of 2007 Caribbean.

    Recently, I renewed the requests with new choices for 2007 and 2008.

    I have never had any communication from any sfx agent. I have sent emails. I have phoned and never reached anyone in person. Have left voice mails and have never received any replies.

    Trying to decide if I would deposit any more weeks with the new promotion, but with zero response, communication or exchanges what can you say about what is going on?

    Am I not understanding the sfx process?

    Hudson - thank you for your post. In your other message to me, you had stated you were very confused about exchange procedures. With your best interests in mind, I will gladly discuss some the basics to help you.

    The reason you were not booked for the Caribbean is very simply... you had placed your request extremely late, and the space was not available with us, or other exchange companies too.

    This was placed on 12/2/2005 for premium demand time, Jan 15 through March 30th. Typically premium demand time in the Caribbean for quality resorts is booked around 10-12 months in advance. Of course there is the possibility of lesser notice for availability.

    You had also given an alternative request with extreme restrictions for two weeks only at the Four Seasons Aviara or Marriott Newport Coast. The agent had advised you accordingly about very late requests for prime time and placing restrictions instead of being reasonably flexible.

    On 4/6/2006 you had placed new requests. One of the requests is restricted to the Memorial Day Holiday Week only. Again, although this may be possible, a major Holiday week only request is considered as a "restricted" request. Restricted because as with "all exchange companies", for there to be a reasonable assumption for positive results, Members are required to show a "reasonable" degree of Flexibility on both travel weeks and/or locations.

    We give this advisement in multiple locations in our web. We do all possible to give Members professional information about how to make an exchange work in your favor. If a Member chooses to not follow these parameters... then you are almost setting yourself up for poor results. It is important to follow the guidelines of timely requests and Flexibility.

    We're sorry, we have to disagree with you on this matter. The computerized phone logs show 38 minutes and 43 seconds of phone conversations with you, on your phone number on record.

    In summary...

    * We strongly recommend placing your requests at least 9-12 months in advance (If you can) for prime time.

    * Try to be as Flexible as possible on both travel weeks and/or locations.

    * Don't place restrictions for just Holiday week travel, a specific resort, or just one travel week (if possible). Every restriction you place on your request is not a plus.

    * After you place your request, we do not contact you unless there is a match. This is clearly stated in the request screen online, and is acknowledged by the person placing the request.

    It does not make any sense in calling a Member to say "we have nothing for you". This wastes time and money and incur's additional operating costs that would be passed down to the Members. About every 30 days, we send an automated customized email notice about your current requests. No call from us simply means what you are requesting is not yet available and a search is still in progress.

      I appreciate the reply. To clarify:

      Actually, I choose not to travel on any holidays. I threw those dates into the system as I had business trade shows to attend in Las Vegas and San Diego. They were not for vacation trades. I suppose not many people do that with their weeks so it seemed odd to see such restricted requests. I will send you a PM for the rest of the issues as there are discrepencies between my e-mail log and communcations you've mentioned.

      Yes, there was an initial conversation with an agent when I joined in December 2005. There were follow-up voice mails left for both a specific agent ( after I learned of specific extensions from a tugger) and in the general mailbox....... not returned. I received an email that I could not be reached on account of a busy signal. Not possible. My call waiting rolls over to voice mail.

      I received one status update via email on December 20, 2005 and none thereafter.

      We'll get the communication inconsistencies sorted out, I'm sure.
