  • Bonus Week Expiration Dates

Should I choose to deposit a "prime" 2010 week, what are the expiration dates of the Mexico bonus week and the regular bonus week relative to the date of deposit and the check-in date of the deposited week.

I have looked everywhere on the SFX site and all I find is boilerplate language about expiration dates being subject to terms and conditions. No where in the terms and conditions do I find the desired information.

Help!! Does anyone know the answer, or where I can look to find it.

Art - thank you for your post. For both Bonus Weeks, if you deposit your 2010 week now, you will have until December 15, 2011 in which to use them. That is approximately 14.5 months.

If you wait until 2010 to deposit your 2010 week, you will have 12 months as of the day we receive your deposit in which to use your Bonus Weeks.

Those who deposit further in advance (now verus 2010) are rewarded with more time in which to use their Bonus Weeks.

Hope this helps. If you have further questions, I will be delighted to respond.

    Thanks,

      Thanks, Mark.

Is that a typo on the expiration date if I deposit now? Dec 15, 2011 doesn't equate to 14.5 months from today.

This is valuable information so we need to make sure that it is right if someone finds it in a search of the Forum.

Art - sorry, I wasn't being specific when I said "now". I meant around now, eg. October. I should have been clearer. Specifically, the earlier you deposit your 2010 week during 2009, the longer you have to use your Bonus Week. The Bonus Week will expire Dec. 15 of the following year (2010).

For example, if you had deposited your 2010 week some time in February of this year (2009), you would have had approximately 1 year and 10 months in which to use it.

If the week was deposited in June of 2009, you would have had approximately 1 year and 6 months to use the Bonus Week.

For those who deposit their week later rather than earlier, let's say their 2010 week is deposited in 2010, (and not 2009), then you have 1 year as of the day we receive the deposit in which to use the Bonus Week.

Member's would ask, "Can we have more than one year to use the Bonus Week?".... to which we came up with the process of rewarding those who deposit earlier. Early deposits are important to both exchange companies and Members, as that is what creates exchange space in advance for Members exchanges to be booked.

        Hope this explanation helps.

This is great news - before they were only good until December of the current year, e.g. that would be 2010.

            Mark,

Are you sure you don't mean they expire in December 2010 and not 2011. In your example, it would be 2 years and 10 months, not 1 year.

I just checked my account and my bonus week for my 2010 deposit was issued on 09/24/2009 and expires on 12/31/2010.

I just checked my account also and my bonus week expires on 12/15/2010. I deposited it about the same time as the poster above. I have 2 weeks less than he does!

Hi John - Apologies, you are absolutely correct. I have also made the correction in my earlier post.

OK. Let's post a hypothetical trade to make sure I've got this right.

We will start by assuming that I want to take the Mexico bonus week as part of the package for depositing a prime week and use it to reserve a week with a January xx, 2011 check-in

To accomplish that I should deposit a prime 2010 week at least six months (I will shoot for the maximum bonus) before its check-in date, but no earlier than January xx, 2010. Correct?

Less theoretical, is it realistic to think, based on past SFX experience, that two back to back January weeks could be obtained in Mexico, with particular emphasis on Puerto Vallarta?

                  Thanks.
