    Lawren,

I saw some nice sightings that got me interested in TPI. What should I know about TPI? How is it diffferent than TPI Maui?

    Thanks,

You do not have to join the VEC to exchange but do get discounts on the exchange fees & upgrade fees if you join.

They do charge for both season and size upgrades

        Boca,

It's all brand new to me. I had posted some information against the Thanksgiving exchange you expressed interest in.

There is no membership fee. They do a like for like season/and sleep trade at no extra charge. They offer relatively cheap season/unit upgrades. No Guest Cert fees.

Domestic exchange is $149 if you don;t join and $119 if you join at some nominal cost.

After seeing some of their availability I just created my on-line account. I had deposited a Premier Access resort with them back in August. So I'm poking around. My plan is to use TPI for summer 2008.

The difference for me is I have NO membership fee and no exchange fee if I trade into another resort in the Premier Access system.

This is a resort membership feature, not an individual though.

Don't they have lots of inventory at Island Park Village? That's close to Yellowstone Boca.

            Lawren,

Was there a code number associated with that bonus week deal? I have a week RCI has kicked back twice when I've attempted to deposit, so I'm thinking of giving it to Trading Places just to be able to kick the tires of their system. I thought I read somewhere that there was an annual membership fee...are you sure there isn't? Also is there a toll free number I can call to deposit a week and get the two bonus weeks? Thanks a bunch!

TPI and TPI Maui used to be the same co. and they split sometime back. TPI Maui has a majority of their inventory, AFAIK, at Maui Hill. Their office is in Maui Hill.

TPI has a lot of inventory at the Maui Schooner, the old Kona Hawaiian Village & Mauna Loa Village. They used to manage the latter two until FF took over. I like them. They'll bend over backwards to get you what you want. They got me a last-minute week at the Maui Schooner in Dec. for a Jan. visit. They even arranged a low-priced rental for a 'gap' day. I love 'em. Their bonus weeks are pretty restrictive because you can only rez. a week 45 days out, IIRC.

They also have a lot of weeks at Island Park Village, near Yellowstone. Since you like last-minute deals you'd like them. Check out their "Rentals", "Hot Deals" for a clue to the resorts they have.

We used to like their "Hot Deals" as they were so reasonable for booking at the very last minute for the two of us while we were already in Hawaii. The "Hot Deals" are much more expensive now.

We have used them too for upgrading our 1 br to a 2 br unit several times because we had company with us. One was at a resort we owned (Mauna Loa Village by the Sea) and the other one was twice an internal exchange to Alii Kai in Kauai. Their resorts are well taken care of and the Maui Schooner is one of them too. Their office was located in our area but I don't know about today.
