  • Some Premier Access Questions

First, thanks again Marcie for answering my previous questions when you were on vacation!

I am now back from my vacation, and have another bunch of questions.

My first questions concern Premier Access. I have a general idea of how Premier Access works. However, there are a couple of things that confuse me.

First, I don't understand the status of Island Park Village. I see that IPV is listed as part of the Premier Access Family of Resorts, and that it's managed by TPI, too. But, I saw this in the chat transcript from last February:
GrayFal -> Chat Lobby: So the list of Premier Access resorts is small - PA members can trade into Island Park Village - but IPV is not a member of that network? Is that correct?
Vacation Rep -> Chat Lobby: GrayFal that is correct....

So, I'm confused -- is IPV part of Premier Access or not? Or, maybe its status has changed since February -- maybe it's part of Premier Access now, but wasn't at the time of the chat?

Second, what happens if you have a week at a Premier Access resort that you plan to deposit with TPI, but don't own that week directly? Specifically, there are several resorts listed as part of Premier Access that have some of their inventory available to owners of various clubs. For example, "MROP" (the Multi-Resort Ownership Plan, run by ORE/VRI) owns 98 weeks at IPV and 230 weeks at the Sweetwater Lift Lodge. So, MROP owners can reserve a week at IPV or the Lift Lodge and deposit that week with the exchange company of their choice. Similarly, the Embarcadero in Newport OR has inventory owned by a number of clubs -- MROP and Resorts West Vacation Club own inventory there, and maybe other clubs own there, too.

Suppose that, as a MROP owner, I reserve a Sweetwater Lift Lodge week and deposit it with TPI. Would I be able to exchange to other Premier Access resorts without paying an exchange fee? Would I get the other Premier Access benefits even though I don't own directly at Sweetwater Lift Lodge, and instead own through MROP?

I know this is complicated, so please let me know if my question isn't clear. My other questions should be more straightforward. Thanks!

    Hello....
Island Park is not part of the premier access program. This is a program that is purchased by your association, Hoa, developer, whichever is applicable to your resort. So in answer to your first question, no, Island Park is not a part of the Premier Access program.

As far as your MROP week, I am going to look into that. I am unclear of the answer and want to give you the correct information. I will get back to you soon.

    Thanks.

      Thanks, Marcie!

I appreciate your looking into the MROP question for me. (By the way, I've now realized that Sweetwater Lift Lodge isn't part of Premier Access, but it looks like at least two other resorts with MROP inventory are: Embarcadero and Lagonita Lodge.)

What's confusing me about Island Park Village is that it's listed on the page that has the Premier Access "Family of Resorts"; it's the first one on the list:
Trading Places International - Premier Access Family of Resorts
Am I misunderstaing what this list is? I thought it was the list of the resorts participating in Premier Access.

The Premier Access Family of resorts are resorts that we have chosen to be a part of the the program that owners can exchange in to. A resort can be a family resort but not be part of the Premier Access program.

In regards to your MROP question, if you are an owner with MROP and you can chose your week for the year, then yes you can deposit this week with us, if it is the week you are entitle to because of being a part of the MROP group.

        Thanks,
        Marcie

Marcie, thank you for answering my questions!

Let me see if I understand this correctly. Some resorts have chosen to be part of the Premier Access program. Owners at these resorts get a number of benefits, including the ability to trade their deposited Premier Access weeks into other Premier Access resorts without an exchange fee. Premier Access owners can also trade their weeks into a few other resorts, that are not part of the Premier Access program, without paying an exchange fee. The resorts that Premier Access members can exchange into without paying an exchange fee are called the "Premier Access Family of Resorts." Is this right?

So, is there a list anywhere of which resorts actually are part of Premier Access? Can you tell us which resorts in the Premier Access Family of Resorts are not, themselves, in Premier Access?

The Premier Access benefits sound pretty good, so they would be a plus for me when considering what resort to buy, but I don't know which resorts are part of the Premier Access program.

            Premier Access

There are very few resorts that actually participate in this program. It is a program that is purchased by your HOA/Developer/Board, etc.

This list of resorts that are part of the Premier Access family is only published in a Premier Access book given to those owner who are a part of the program. Because the list changes, we do not publish it any place on the internet.

The properties are part of the program, to name a few are Desert Breezes, 4 Seasons @ Desert Breezes, Riverpointe in Napa, Kona Hawaiian village, Mauna Loa village, Royal Vacation Suites, Royal Sea Cliff, Playa del Sol, Skiers Lodge, Sweetwater at Park City, Park Hotel, FF Waikiki Walk....

            I hope this helps...

Sorry to be slow in replying, Marcie, I've been busy and traveling and haven't been here in a while!

So, if I bought a week at one of the resorts listed above, say, Riverpointe in Napa, Skiers Lodge, Sweetwater at Park City, or Park Hotel, that week would be part of the Premier Access program and could be traded for other Premier Access resorts without an exchange fee? Is that correct?

              Thanks!
