My parents really enjoyed the Monterey/Carmel/Cannery Row bus trip, they said the drive down the coast was spectacular ....and I haven't been there myself yet!

      Height Asbury

I took my daughter to Height Asbury, not knowing what to expect. I found out that the hippies are all gone and the head shops are now cigar stores. I took a picture of my daughter next to the street sign and we left. A tour bus driveby should be sufficient if its on it's way somewhere else. We had fun with the cable cars, Pier 39(just a mall type setting on a pier) with a couple of players dressed up like a robot doing its movements and a jokester hiding behind a bush to scare people to the amusement of the spectators, and a block or two away is Fishermans Wharf. Monterey/Carmel with a tour would be possible. It's getting so commercial and built up. We like the Monterey Pier and the Monterey Bay Aquarium, which is very nice, but takes most of a day in of itself. A tour would probably point out the amazing homes near the Pebble Beach Golf Course, and perhaps Clint Eastwood's hangouts in Carmel. His Hog's Breath Inn in Carmel had items on the menu named after his movie titles. The coast is so beautiful anywhere in this area. The best venue in Monterey is on a park bench overlooking the bay. I hope the weather is favorable for you to enjoy being outdoors! garyd210

The Japanese Tea Garden is great. There are some other spots in the park that are also nice.
Your list reminds me that I need to do the ferry to Sausalito on my next trip
Alcatrz does have the very best view of San Francisco and the entire bay. I would love to be there at night to see the lights.

Just to let you know I've almost got my work done as far as research goes and I want to thank everyone for their help and ideas. I called the zoo & they don't let the public view the lion feeding so I marked that off.

I know that Kelli & I are going to Beach Babylon and I thank you for that suggestion, I just have to figure out when.

I have found a great sf tour w Muir Woods for $38 that I'm going to book. I also like Mr Toad's night tour and I have scheduled Alacatraz at Night for Mothers Day so I can see the sunset from there. They also have a shuttle to take disabled people / older people who can't walk well up the hill or I couldn't have done that.

I'll be firming up the stuff soon and will submilt my final itenerary for scruitny.
