  • Free tours of the Port of Long Beach CA

Every year the POLB offers free tours of the port.....it is really great to see how a port operates and the impact it has on the economy. Kids and adults can really learn much from this experience and I highly recommend taking advantage.

They are supposed to be adding more tours as they get booked pretty fast. You can keep an eye out for them here or call the POLB directly.

    Port Tour Reservations

One of the best ways to learn more about the Port of Long Beach is with a close-up look from the water, on a narrated port tour.

This summer, from May through October, the Port of Long Beach is expanding its boat tour program, offering free 90-minute, narrated tours for the public. The tours depart from and return to Shoreline Village, just north of Parker's Lighthouse restaurant, in downtown Long Beach. Two-hour parking at Shoreline Village will be validated.

The tours will be offered twice a month, on the first Saturday (in the morning) and on the third Tuesday (in the afternoon). Seating for each tour will be limited to the first 110 to 120 people (depending on the size of the boat), who make reservations below or by calling (562) 590-4121.

So that as many people as possible have the opportunity to visit the Port, you will be limited to no more than six seats on any tour, and limited to no more than one group of reservations a year. We will re-confirm with an e-mail reminder a few days before the tour. Tours may be cancelled at the last minute because of bad weather or other conditions beyond our control.

(With so many of the boats already fully booked, more free port tours will be scheduled as part of the Second Annual Green Port Open House from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 7. Check back later in the summer for more details.)

So, come join us for a visit.

Click on the "Reserve Seats" button below to make a reservation. A few days before your scheduled tour, you can click here to confirm your reservation. To cancel a reservation, click here.

Thanks for sharing. I will be in So. CA the first week of July and the first week of August with the kids. This would be a great activity for us. (Grandma will need a break ,too.)
