  • Anaheim in June 2012

Looking for a 2 BR TS in Anaheim between June 9-16th 2012. From what I can see Worlmark Anaheim looks nice. Any suggestions on where to find a rental here? Or any other places in Anaheim? I am a Bluegreen memer and I don't see any availability for the summer months. Not sure if there are just none listed yet, or maybe my Bluegreen points (13,000) aren't enough during that time. Let me know if you have any suggestions - would also consider a trade, or rental at a Disneyland hotel for less days. Thanks.

    I'd check wmowners.org for a rental.

WM has not deposited June '12 yet---another six weeks or so. But, peak-demand times rarely see 2BRs from here deposited. Early June *might* be, but I would doubt it---enough kids are off school by then.

WM Anaheim as a rental from an owner would be very expensive. The 2BR is 16,500 points for the week and the tax is over $100. Typical 2BR WM is 10,000. I would be happy to rent it to you for however many nights you wanted but think you should try to get an exchange.

Wyndham's Dolphins Cove will be deposited behind WorldMark ~8 weeks. Put in an on-going search or you may not get one of either.

The third and last choice would be Peacock Suites which has only microwave, mini-fridge and coffee maker.

Most of the summer weeks at DC are fixed-week. Very few were converted. There is still internal availability via points, so it's not impossible that it would be deposited. There is only one bath in the 2BRs at DC, as well.

I would stay at one of the area Residence Inns before I took a Peacock exchange.

WM also owns a few units at DC. I know as I pre-book them at 12 months out but we don't have any June weeks this year. Some have 2 baths.

I am also good friends with an owner of several units at DC if the OP wants to rent one from him. More reasonable than WM Anaheim.

I personally wouldn't stay in Anaheim but I'm the Beach Barbie.

Agreed. The good thing is that the summer weeks are only weeks 26 - 35 so the OPs dates fall within the floating timeframe which should have converted inventory.

Actually, that's not quite correct. There are 2 types of 2BR configurations. I would say the vast majority of points reservation and exchanges are 2BR / 1BA configs. There are actually a reasonable number of 2BR / 2BA units but those are typically tied to the legacy ownerships which denote the type on the deed. I find the call centre staff aren't familiar with the distinction but the resort staff are.

I wouldn't visit in June because of the weather. That is when we get the June Gloom because of the heavy marine layer that can mean no sun for most of the day. If you want to skip the July/August summer months then September/October is a much better choice. In fact September to mid-October is my favorite time of the year in Southern California.

We stayed in a two bedroom unit in April and the tax was about $142.
