  • Last minute Laguna to do reco's?

Hi - any reco's for exploring Laguna Beach just for the afternoon? Best place to wander to get a feel for the galleries, shops, restaurants? Any good waterfront lunch spots? We would also consider dinner there too. Any musts?

    Thanks!

It's not right in town but Javier's up the coast is pretty awesome.

There's a little French place that is walking distance that my wife and I really enjoyed for dinner. Can't remember the name at the moment but you'll know it when you see it.

If The Cottage restaurant was still in Laguna Beach I'd recommend that. But it looks like it closed two years ago after 48 years in business. My mom used to work at an art gallery just a few doors down from there. It was one of my favorite places to go.

I think you are already there...but a lot of people like K'ya Bistro. The rooftop terrace for small plates and drinks.

              Thanks, everyone!

I thought I would see your messages remotely since I subscribed to the thread, but it turns out that if you don't log in to the site you only get notice of the first reply. Anyway, we had a great day in Laguna Beach, ended up having lunch at The Cliff next to Laguna Surf, food was surprisingly good given the touristy vibe (the raw wasabi scallops were AMAZING), and the view was stunning.

Stressy, is K'ya Bistro above a hotel? A bit south of Laguna Surf? If yes, we almost went there, but the girl working at Rusty told us it was more of a cocktail place. We were in more of a food mood so we opted for The Cliff. If she had said "tapas," we might have changed our minds, but it all worked out fine

Another thing to keep in mind for next time! I had already nixed boat trips off the list for this week since it's been chilly, but today it actually felt warmer. Maybe it's just warmer (or less windy?) up by Dana Point/Laguna than further south?

The coast has been chilly for about ten days now. I live further south than Dana point in Carlsbad and it has been really windy.

I had every window in the house open in March and had to close them all in April.

C'est La Vie is the name of the restaurant. It was very good the last time we ate there. I saw this thread too late but Avery found a popular eating place anyway. I assume she found the Boardwalk too and the nice walk by Heisler Park where Las Brisas is?

We did see that restaurant but opted for http://thecliffrestaurant.com for the views. Spectac!

Found the boardwalk and also a wonderful path to a beautiful viewing spot with some cool ironwork/art just down the hill from The Cliff.

Tonight we are headed back here for dinner in Encinitas at this little local Iziyaka, our favorite meal all week: http://www.sakehouseyumeya.com

You've got to hit Le Papagueyo for some live music as well.

It's right on the coast highway.

Cool, thanks! I am having trouble selling DS on the "classic rock" band playing tonight but maybe I can get him to check it out after dinner. Tomorrow night The English Beat is playing in Solana Beach...

The Belly Up is a legendary music spot around here.

The English Beat isn't exactly a bunch of youngsters! ;-)
