  • Pictures: Four Seasons Aviara, Carlsbad, CA

Boca has a thread going about Four Seasons Troon - so I thought I would add pictures of Aviara.
This is THE nicest TS resort we have stayed in in the US (Grand Mayan Nuevo Vallarta is PRETTY FABulous!)

Here are a few pictures...I hope!

            Pat,

Great pics. The place really does look beautiful.....

How was the service and amenities?

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Just as Boca is describing here, the service and all employees were wonderful.

We had daily maid service and the unts were spotless.
Some of the pictures I didn't post were of all the details that made the units so lovely - I used the same moldings in my home renovation this year!
They have L'Occitane toiletries in the bathrooms, they serve you fruit and ice water at the pool....nothing is too much in terms of service.
The hotel is also fantastic but very pricey - I enjoyed my $14 martini!

              Ya gotta GO

It sounds so fabulous.......you're right, I have to go.

I would like to go this time, next year.

Did you put in a request through II, or did you grab one during flexchange?

Very nice. I can't wait. I'm going there next month. The unit I am in in Scottsdale is not that far off. They could do some slight upgrades and get it up to that quality level.

                    Beautiful photos

                    Pat:

Isn't Aviara a wonderful place? We have had two exchange into Aviara and consider it one of our favorites. Everything is so high quality, from the furnishings to the heaviest sliding glass doors I have ever tried to open.

It appears from your photos that you probably stayed up on "the ridge" just a couple of minutes walk to the Four Seasons Hotel lobby rather than down the hill by the activity center. We stayed on the ridge a couple of years ago during the Christmas season and loved walking over to the hotel in the evenings to watch the "beautiful" people all dressed up in their finest for Christmas parties.

A nice time to be there as well, and it looks like you didn't have to deal with the summer fog and overcast along the coast that locals call the "June Gloom".

Thanks for sharing the pics. Good job!

I saw someone post a sighting and grabed the exchange - we went May 1-8, 2005....but when we decide to return I will put in a request....end of September, early October would be a wonderful time to go.

Yes, we were in the "Summitt" section as opposed to the "Meadows".
It was nice to be able to walk over to the hotel - but they do have a shuttle from the Meadows up the hill to the hotel.

The bad part about the Summitt was that our unit overlooked a noisy road - making it unpleasant to sit on the balcony.....it was weird how loud it was.
We would request the summitt again if we could get a unit overlooking the meadows - facing west NOT south.

We spent a day at the 'quiet' pool at the hotel - it was wonderful......
Hope I can fit a return visit in 2008!

Looks fabulous-can I ask how you exchanged into it? I have 2 RCI t/shares but I believe my Embassy Lake Tahoe (now owned by S unterra) is an II. Would that work? And did you get a studio, 1 or 2 bedrrom and when? Thanks-I'd love to stay here.
